Enough Room

I'm 5'0" tall, short torso, 25 weeks along, & my uterus already comes up past the bottom of my rib cage. I've read in several places that the fundal height (where the top of the uterus comes up to) measures approximately same number of centimeters from the top of the pubic bone as weeks along you are. So, for example, at 25 weeks, my fundus is measuring 25 cm from the top of the pubic bone. This makes sense, as I've measured & that's where it is. The problem with this is I don't HAVE 40 centimeters from the top (or even the bottom for that matter!) of my pubic bone because I'm so small. That would be up to my chest! What's going to happen past 30 weeks? Anyone know more about this from experience?

Great question! My guess is that your belly actually grows OUT rather than further up. So if you take a tape measure and measure 40 cm, put it at the bottom and the a__sumed top, you can see how big your belly is expected to get in the upcoming weeks. Make sense?

I think so. Right now, there's almost no room left to grow upwards. Maybe just another inch or two. So guessing I'll get pretty enormous outward. Or that I'll deliver early because there won't be enough room for the next 15-17 weeks. Dunno. Thanks for your response.

A friend of mine is 4' 11' and she grew out. Her belly was one of the cutest I have ever seen... very round and out!
