You can take straight pysillium husks but make sure that it doesn't have siena (you want to avoid that while you are pregnant). Also, a good cereal with lots of fiber is Uncle Sams. Good Luck.

My doctor told me to use Benifiber. Your doctor's office should be able to give you a list.

I've been taking the metamucil capsils and they've worked like a charm! I don't follow the directions because I don't want to take to many, but I've been taking 2 pills every two or three days and I've had no problems since. (my dr said they were perfectly fine to take by the way).

I was extremely constipated, like no movements for 7 or more days. My doctor recommended Colace, a stool softner and Peri-colace, a stimulant and softner. I also took Fiber-con tablets, which are bulk forming so they help you have a large movement at once, instead of little rabbit pellets lol. Doctor told me any fiber supplement is safe.

I too had the same problem, I tried everything, metamucil, fruit, prunes.. nothing helped, I would go for like 7 days with nothing and then it would hurt sooo bad. I finally tried this cereal called Fiber 1 and it works so well. You don't have to eat a ton, I just eat a little in the morning and the very next day I was good to go! good luck!!
