Glucose Levels

At my last visit (18wks) there was sugar in my urine. They had me drink a glucose drink. They called me to say that they like to see levels at 130 or below, mine was 132. So now I have to do another test (which includes a long fast). I was wondering if anyone has ever had their levels at tad bit high like this and turned out not to have diabetes.

My hospital wanted levels below 140 mg/dL for the 1hr screening. At 132, you'll probably be fine for the 3hr tolerance test. Unfortunately, I distinctly failed the tests at 11 weeks and have been coping with Gestational Diabetes. It isn't too bad, but it is a lifestyle change. If you're interested, I posted preparation advice for the 3hr Oral Glucose Toleranc Test (OGTT) on the "Pregnancy Complications/3 Hours Glucose test" forum. Good luck with your test.

Thanks, I will check it out. I am nervous about the fast, I go 3 hours without eating and I start to get dizzy and nauseous. They said for me not to eat after midnight the previous night and I won't leave till noon the next day, a very long time for me & baby to go without food : (

my clinic also wanted my levels to be below 130 and mine were at 169!! i took the three hour test and pa__sed with flying colors. i've heard that a lot of things can effect your glucose levels (stress, food you eat, things like that). i actually had to fast for 12 hours before my three hour test (which actually took about 4 hours)... so i was extremely hungry when i got home. the only bad thing is that i got really shaky and weak after i got home and ended up needing to go to sleep. hopefully that doesn't happen to you!!!
