Glucose Tolerance Test

I just got back my glucose tolerance test and my number was over the acceptable range. It was 146. I am going to do that three day diet this week and take the test again. Does anyone have experience with getting a high test result then easily lowering it with a simple change in diet? When I took the test it was 1:00pm and I had not eaten since 9:00pm the previous night. I thought that might have made it harder on my body to be hit with such a high dose of sugar?

I did a glucose test at my docs (a 1 hour which was abnormal and then a 3 hour which was abnormal). They put me on a diabetic diet and a smal dose of meds...seems to have helped, but I have to watch EVERYTHING I eat otherwise my sugar goes sky high. Good luck!

It should have made it easier for your body to handle it because it didn't have any other sugar in it that it was trying to deal with. Sometimes pregnancy throws your body off like that and your...pancreas I think it is...doesn't break down glucose, or sugar, like it should. Mine was too high when I went with my last pregnancy, but that was because I had eaten sugar right before going in. No one had told me I was even having a test that day. So definately do the diet though, and if anything hopefully you should just have to watch your sugar intake for the rest of the pregnancy.
