I get really sharp headaches everyday. If I smell something I get them, if I hear something loud or annoying I get them. Are these headaches or are these migrains...I plan on asking my doctor at my appointment on Monday but just curious to know. I'm 14 weeks today nd really unsure if this is what you all have gone through or if its just me lol. I know headaches are common during pregnancy but I didn't know it was like this.

I have had migraines for years... but I think the symptoms are different for everyone. Usually, it is only on one side of my forehead, and is made worse by noise or light. Sometimes it makes me sick to my stomach (especially during my first trimester). Also, they have never come on that quickly for me. I am sure that wasn't muchhelp, but I thought you could compare it to your symptoms. When you take tylenol, do they go away? If so, then it probably isn't a migraine.

I'm actually one of them people who thinks medicine don't work, so I don't take tylenol...I'm tempted to but I'm scared of the effect on the baby. I have a bad history with medicine and don't wanna chance it

I've been getting bad headaches for a week or two now (I am 13.5 wks). My doctor said this is the time in PG when they flare up b/c of the amounts of estrogen we have in our bodies at this time---he said it was equivalent to taking 8-10 birthcontrol pills per day! Crazy. Anyway, he said that by wk 16 they get better or go away. I hope that's the case for us!

Yeah I hope so, hopefully it does go away, this is the worst one yet and at times if I move it makes me cry...sad but all i think of is me doing this for the baby. Trying to stay strong for the baby.

I am the type of person who (before pregnancy) took 4 extra strength tylenol to get rid of a headache ~ worked fast 9not the right thing, I know)...since I've been pregnant I haven't taken anything with my headaches or migranes - I have been getting headaches for about 4 weeks now. I hate it, but am too scared to take anthing for it.

Yeah thats me...it seems like all midicine does with me is makes me sick...so I won't chance it at all one bit with this pregnancy. But these headaches are annoying me. I'm starting to feel like I should cut of my hair (well cut it anyways) my hair is really long and I have a feeling that they wouldn't be as bad if I cut my hair but then again I don't know

I am a regular migraine sufferer and very prone to regular headaches as well, so pregnancy did me no favors. I spent the whole first few months pf pregnancy battling one headache after another. The good news is that they stop, they do for most women, and luckily, they did for me too. I have not had a headache of any kind for months now and am 30 weeks. I know you said you don't like to take medicines, but what would work for me was Tylenol, a nice, warm shower, or ice packs on my head or neck. Sometimes just breathing steam over the stove helped to relax me and the headache would wane. The ice really helped the most though.

Yeah, I'm thinking of trying the ice, I would do anything well besides medication lol but almost anything at this point

I have those soft blue gel-like ice things that go in lunch boxes and i just used those. They were awesome since they are flat and not bulky like a baggie with ice in it. Maybe a trip to wal mart to get some would be worth it for you.

Yeah, I will have my hubby pick me up some today and see if those work, and even being at work between people it could be easily used. Really hope it works

Good luck!

i have suffered from migraines for about 10 years now and i have been lucky now for awhile though if you have never had one, i will just say that you will KNOW that it is not a headache. basically a migraine feels like someone is stabbing a knife into ONE side of your forehead (temples). the main indicator that it is a migraine is that it will only be on one side at a time. tylenol is fine during pregnancy but they say to wait until 2nd trimester if you can. migraines also do not just come and go and they may come on suddenly but they do not go away suddenly. so it sounds like you are just having some bad headaches, which are common during pregnancy. try heating pads, it will relieve some of the tension.
