HIP Leg Cramps

I am almost 16 weeks pregnant. I am really experiencing bad hip cramps (from today)...or rather, it starts in my hip and little bit in my upper leg as well. but mostly in my hip. Is that normal and why does it happen? Can I do something about it? has it got to do with pregnancy?

Welcome to the world of pregnancy! :) Yes it's very common. Almost everybody I've talked to that's been pregnant had some hip pain especially when you're asleep. Mine hits me when I'm on one side too long, something about the uterus puts pressure on one of the nerves back there. Mine goes away instantly when I switch sides, but then an hour later it's back. I guess it's just one of those things to endure. If yours is painful all the time with no relief, then I'd check with doc, but I think it's completely normal.

Yes i hear you...but i haven't been sleeping...it happens during day time at office...and its more my front part of hip - pelvic area...and its ok if I lie down with my legs elevated, but as soon as I sit down it starts again...

I get hip and lower back pain during the day. My doc recommended an SI belt and ma__sage - I'd talk to your doctor about your specific pain if it's really inhibiting you to figure out what you can do to help relieve it. Prenatal yoga is also helping me keep things loose.
