How Do They Find Out Sex

I am having my 20 week u/s very soon. I would like to know how doctor / MW find out s_x of baby! I mean just by looking at baby do they come to know whether its boy / girl or do they do any other detailed screening to know the s_x. Actually I would like to keep this surprise! Why I am asking this is I am also going to see my baby in u/s so if its so apparent to identify s_x by just looking at baby it will be clear to me as well! And my feeling is apparently all babies look similar in womb! How do you know whether its girl/ boy??

They look inbetween the babies legs, a girl baby will show what looks like 3 lines side by side. A boy baby,,,, well.... kind like a hot dog. If you look closely enough you might be able to tell... but sometime the techs cant even tell. b/c the cord will get in the way, or baby may not spead legs, etc

if you are having a 3d/4d ultrasound it is very easy for you to tell but if you are having a normal ultrasound the average person usually can't tell so...if you don't want to know...and are having a regular us then I say look...but a 3d/4d one...its very apperent.

Tell the doctor ahead of time that you don't want to know. That's what we just did today... then she just told us when we should look away, and we did! :)

well, I am having a boy. It was really obvious. I would tell the tech you don't want to know, so they can avoid searching down there. When they need to they can have you turn your head, here is the shot of our son at 16 weeks, if you saw it you would know for sure jennifer.oriley.net/Pictures/seans_boy_parts.jpg
