My Mom told me that she got an epidural when she had me and that her lower back hurt for six months after. When she had my sister she did it natural, she said it hurt at the time, but only for about a day or two. I don't think I want to go completely natural. Has anyone else had a different type of pain relief that seemed to work?

With my last pregnancy I had a little bit of Nubaine and did it natural other than that. It worked enough for me. That's the plan this time too.

i had back pain for weeks after my first two babies, i had epidurals with both. the best place to find out more about pain management is from your doctor. a childbirth cla__s will tell you alot too. talk to the nurses when you tour the hospital. get all the info you can.

I hope I can stick it out without an epidural because I am afraid... I had one before... it was an emergency, and when they were putting it in I moved... I said oh god... there goes my spine... now I'm paralized... fortunately not, but I hope to opt for something else...

The gas is a way to go. it doesn't do anything for the pain, but it separates you from the pain and what's going on around you. It's something that you can administer your self, so you decide when you want more, and when it's enough.
