I Hate Feeling This Way

Did anyone else hate the week or so after they had the AFP test done? My wife had the test done last Monday, and ofcourse they say it takes a week to a week and a half to get any results back, and I feel like Im a nervous wreck, always holding my breath before I catch a glimpse of the answering machine when I get home from work. The pregnancy has been a lot of fun so far, and all the tests and ultrasounds thus far have been great, but this past week has been nerve wrecking for me.

Yes, I was nervous along with my husband. With our first pregnancy we had some scares, they thought our daughter had downs, but she didnt. Just remember that they are just tests, and they are not 100% accurate. Since I am 36 I choose not to have the AFP b/c the % of false postives were too high. Try not to make yourself a nervous wreck, I know it's easier said than done. You can always ask to have another ultrasound if it would make you and your wife feel better! Good luck!

We have the 20 week ultrasound 3 weeks from today, so were hoping and praying that we dont hear anything between now and then. We are really excited to find out the s_x, so these 3 weeks will seem like 3 years! :)

well just remember that the tests arent 100%accurate. At our level two ultrsound our DR told us that the results are computer generated. So alot of the info comes from age,ect..good luck! I'm sure it will all come out great!
