Hello Ladies! Well, we had quite a busy week last night and it's time for a new thread. Boy, we girls like to talk.

Sprinkles - February 4

Good morning! I had my appointment this morning - my regular visit with my doctor I gained 4 lbs not bad i guess. He was looking at my chart and said blood pressure looks good weight looks good and that everything looks ok then he did the heartbeat thing and couldnt find it lol so he did it with the u/s machine and he got it first it was 113 then 150 then 141 ( i wonder how accurate those things are ) lol i mean they measure like 2 or 3 little lines then thats it .. he said it was fine though and that the reason he had a hard time finding the heartbeat is because the placenta is in the front so he has to hear through that and that makes it difficult. So 23 weeks ...and so far so good according to him. Tomorrow is my transv____al then I am good for another 2 weeks O and I got there on time today and i was in and out in 15 mins lol not bad Ok I am off to get some breakfast and try and call that midwife place again then to work see ya later

Happyyyyy mondaayyyyyyyy... (booooo). Congrats on the boy DDT! How bout that last quarter of the superbowl? That was awesome! Okay guys, someone brought up how nice our forum is, and I totally agree...we're all here for support...not to bring others down. Well I have a question foryou all, because I made the most horrible decision over the weekend. Dh and I and a couple we know went out for some great food on Saturday. I had cream of mushroom soup and Sonoma Shrimp Fettucine. Oh, it was delicious!! Anyway, afterwards, we went to a hookah bar and I smoked the hookah. eeeek! :-s I just puffed, and only inhaled maybe once, but it was accidental. I thought hookah was way less harmful than cigarettes because there are no additives and I thought there wasn't any nicotine. I googled it this morning and what I read is freaking me out! I am by no means a regular smoker and I stay away from secondhand smoke as much as I can. I just thought a little hookah smoking wouldn't be bad...because it smelled like fruit...and tasted like fruit... and it just doesn't seem harmful at ALL! I'm hope I'm just overreacting, but the baby hasn't been half as active as he was on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday...but I'm still feeling movement...just not as often. I read that feeling consistent fetal movement happens after 25 + weeks, and I'm only 19. So okay, do you think I could have done some serious damage without inhaling? But I did breathe the smoke around me I guess. I feel horrible now. (oh...theres the baby moving now). I bought a java chip frap this morning to make the baby move. Its working...good!

also, has anyone experienced cramping on their uterus... or stomach area during intercourse? I had no spotting, but this morning, I was cramping on the left side during intercourse. I stopped my movement and that helped a lot. Maybe it was my position, or the fact that my bladder hadn't been emptied yet...? TMI, I know, but I was just curious to see if anyone had this cramping too.

Hey everybody - I feel like I've been away for ages! So many congratulations to be said too and my am I lost on who's expecting a boy and a girl! SO congratulations everyone! Deb - hope things are ok with you - what a horrible scare. I'm finally moved back to Scotland - we still need to find a base so currently living between parents - at least I have my comp set up - need to buy a laptop I think for all the moving around I'm doing. All's going well with me and the little one, just going through all the registering in the UK now. Hoping all is well with everyone!

hey Lou! Glad to see you're back! Hopefully you'llg et all settled in soon so you can start relaxing. So far, the boys are in the lead over here. What are you having? I forgot! I found out I'm having a boy!.

Lou_and_Bump - February 4

hey Newlywed - it's Christie right? Yeah me too I'm expecting a boy! You must be very excited to know now - did you hit the shops straight after. I was surprised how easy it was to shop for my little boy - always thought at the back of my mind I was expecting a girl so had kind of re-program my brain to shop for little boys things. I'm so excited! Makes it so much easier to visualise knowing what I'm expecting. As for your cramping question I can't help I'm afraid as I have no idea.

newlywed0915 - February 4

yep, I went shopping straight after. I had ot hit those clearance racks! I also thought it would be tough shopping for a boy...but its actually more fun because you really have to look for the cute stuff. ;-) I was folding the clothes I got the other day and as I held them up I just couldn't believe I'd be holding a baby that small this summer. I can't wait to have him in my arms. :-)

Morning everyone! Welcome back Lou, I think the blue team has taken a pretty substantial lead at this point. Newlywed, I wouldn't worry about the hookah, honestly think about all the women who have trouble quitting smoking throughout their pregnancy. I had a friend that would smoke 1 or 2 cigs a week because she found it impossible to quit and both of her daughters are perfectly fine. The internet is so overrated, and it scares me anytime I ever look something up. Also the majority of the websites aren't even run by real doctors. Also the cramping thing has happened to me everytime I've had s_x since about 12 weeks. It scares me alot, but luckily I have just about zero s_x drive so s_x isn't all that often in my house right now. But my uterus would get really hard and sort of cramp up for about 15 minutes, but then everything would be fine. I have been so sick this weekend, really nausseated and diarrhea. I thought I'd feel better by today but I'm almost feeling worse. I would just really like to throw up and feel better, but no such luck. Well I hope everyone else is feeling better than I am.

Lou_and_Bump - February 4

ugh poor you Gabby! You're probably doing this anyway just make sure you're drinking lots of water or you will get dehydrated. There was a sickness bug going round the UK over Christmas. I know of a few pregnant women who got it and unfortunately they had to ride it out as there's no real magic cure. It's called Norovirus - wikipedia has a bit about it, but don't worry it's not harmful to your baby and it goes away after about 3 days I think. Oh and I didn't say this to scare you - hopefully to put your mind at rest as it will pa__s in the next 24 hours, (if it's anything like that - saying all this probably just regular pregnancy thing)!

newlywed0915 - February 4

okay, thanks for the rea__surement, Gabby. :-) I feel better now...especially because I'm feeling the baby move this morning. Also, with the cramps, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I'll have to let DH know it might become a regular thing. He was so sweet, this morning, saying he didn't want to hurt me or the baby. Its SO beautiful here in Kansas today. Its feels like its 65 outside! Tommorrow we're supposed to be getting 5 incehs of snow though. :-(

Sprinkles - February 4

Hello girls! this weather is nuts right christie?! I am in PA and it was so cold last week then sunday I go out and wear my coat and i am sweating so i took it off and now this morning it was snowing and rain and tomorrow its suppose to be up to 53 .. who knows anymore lol But this is why people are sick... you cant predict how to dress.. I have a stomache thing too .. i have the poops tmi sorry lol .. but my diet is very irregular so maybe that contributes I ate a pint of cherry garcia ice cream with chips last night haha You know christie i was holding the ity bity dresses we got for the baby and finally its becoming like a reality to me.. and then instantly i get happy then worried .. ugh why cant i just enjoy anything ! then when the doc said the heartbeat was 115 i was worried even though he said 150 and 141 afterwards... i freak out about everything! well tomorrow i have another appt so they will check it again and that should put me at ease at least. I was a lil worried cause of the cramping lately and then i picked up my mattress the other day so i thought afterwards maybe that was a bad idea but i am so used to movin and picking things up on my own i forget until i already did it that I shouldnt do it. ugh O and i asked my doc about the sciatic nerve thing and he said to me .. 'well that is only gonna get worse for you as the baby gets bigger cause she is pushing in nerves in your spine' so ... i guess it is what it is lol

newlywed0915 - February 4

the weather is wack! The babys heartbeat was 136 when we saw him at our u/s. Thats the lowest its ever been detected...so I was slightly worried, but he was asleep before, so that explaisn the lower heartrate. Dont' worry, I'm sure you're okay. Its so hard not to be paranoid. At least you get weekly appointments...or bi-weekly. Lucky bum! ;-)

Jessicab3 - February 4

I am so ready for winter to be OVER! But no we are suppossed to get more snow tomorrow, aarrgghh .... I asked my midwife about the heartrate changing and she saids it is acutally a good sign to see it change because it means his nervous system is making the proper adjustments according to the lo's needs..... Christie, I wouldn't worry a bit about the hookah smoke, its the same as cigarette smoke and I know a woman who smoked throughout all 4 of her kids preganancies and they are healthy as can be (not that I'm promoting it or anything but now and then shouldn't be worrisome).

Sprinkles - February 4

Aww Thank you - You girls always make me feel better!!! Hey at least I now know why my doppler doesnt work lol with the placenta in the front he said that makes it MUCH harder to hear

gabby509 - February 4

Sprinkles that's probably why you haven't felt your little girl move all that much either. My doc said that if the placenta is in the front, it sort of blocks the mother from feeling lots of kicks, until the baby gets bigger and really let's you have it. I just called my doc cause I've been sick all weekend and he said that as long as I still feel movement and I'm not getting dehydrated then there's nothing they can do. Boo Hoo, I was hoping they would say, yeah come in and we'll give you a miracle pill and you'll feel better in an hour. And to make matters worse, I tried to call out and my boss said that she has noone to pick up her kids so can I at least come in and get them, then drive all the way back home. God I wish these d__n kids didn't go to private school, cause if they went to public school, they could get on a d__n bus. Oh well I'll stop my b___hing and moaning, but anyway does anyone know the count of boys and girls? I'm going to go back and try to count.

Sprinkles - February 4

You know gabby that makes perfect sense about the movement... Today i was laying down and happened to have my arm like laying on my side and BOOM she kicked me i was like HUH then she didnt do it again but that kick made my WHOLE day! I wish i could not work now too ... just stay home and be at peace haha
