morning! Kay...whenever you get here: I m glad you're back and doing a bit better! We were wondering where you went! Sprinkles, I'm with you on today being slow. Last night we had our company Christmas party and I didn't get home until 11. The night before I got to bed at 1. I am SOOOO tired, and I'm getting a cold. One side of my nose is congested...and the same side starts running, even though its congested. Whats up with that?! Oh...someone asked about a recips for salsa...my DH is a chef by heart (he went to culinary school for a while)..and although it isn't his life career, he cooks all the time. Here's his salsa recipe: roma tomatoes, onion, green onions, garlic, lime juice, cilantro, sea salt, and jalpenos. You can add garlic powder if you want. But wow, if you love fresh salsa as much as I do right now, you'll drink this stuff. Plus, its all healthy for the babY!

Oooo i hate when that happens to my nose! Right now my nose is sore like it feels raw inside :o/ For some reason the last couple of days I wake up and think Hmm I dont feel pregnant .. and i dont know why i think that ...maybe cause I don't feel sick so much.. but I do have my bouts of it - Like i ate that steak last night which i really didn't want I just ate it cause it was defrosted .. and in the middle I got this nauseaus feeling but i just talked myself off that ledge lol i was like NOOO dawn don't puke just drink some soda and swallow lol Worked ok .. I am really hoping to have my appet_te for christmas! I am glad to see Kay is back too .. i wondered what happened to you... I dehydrated with my daughter when i was pregnant with her .. and whats weird is when she had her teeth come in she had to like indentations on her front teeth that would get like discolored and it drove me NUTS so i asked the doctors why that happened and they said if i dehydrated while i was pregnant or something it could have been at the time her teeth were forming and it caused them not to form correctly! That is nuts I didn't realize that could happen .. Now with her 2nd teeth its' not there so that is good. I was like 6 months when i dehydrated with her .. that wasn't a good pregnancy for me .. I had alot go wrong .. but in the end everything worked out :o)

I'm stuck at work too! Yuck. i only have xmas day off. Ok, so i am 14 weeks today and still not feeling better. i am still in bed around 7:30pm. Also still feel nauseous throughout the day.

Rachel29 - December 21

Hi ladies! I guess I'm in the same boat. I'm at work, and not much is going on, so I thought I'd join the discussion. I'm hoping that my supervisor will send me home early...sometimes he does that on days before holidays, so I guess we'll see. I'm glad you posted the salsa recipe newlywed. Sounds really good right now, and I crave spicy foods all the time! And I probably should eat a vegetable every now and then. It's so hard when they make you nauseaus, but salsa sounds like something I could eat. Anyway, have you guys felt your babies move yet? I swear I have (I'm 16.5 weeks due June 3rd, so I may be a little ahead of you girls ) but when I went to the doctor two days ago she said "no, that's gas. You won't feel the baby until 20 weeks." I wasn't going to argue, but I really feel like I have felt some fluttering going on in there that doesn't feel like anything I've really felt before. Any thoughts?

HeatherIsHopeful - December 21

Rachel I would be willing to bet what you felt was baby :) Im just 15 weeks (tomorrow) and I SWEAR I felt something last night... it did not fee like gas or bubbles or whatever... it felt like.. I dunno something else lol. anyway, I have been lucky with veggies I have been CRAVING cuc_mbers lol so I went and got some and come raw baby carrots and other random veggies cut em up and put them in some tupper ware thing and just pull that outta my fridge and snack on them throught out the day.. yum :)

michelly4 - December 21

Hi ladies. Mind if I join you ? I am 13 weeks and due June 28th. I am just now starting to get over the m/s. It still comes once in a while but not that often. I am still tired all the time though. Rachel29 - I am sure that what you are feeling is your baby moving. Is this your first ? I know with my first I didn't really know what it was untill I got further along. Some people can feel movement as early as 12 weeks. I am now 13 and I have started to feel the little flutters. Mostly when I am sitting up and there is more pressure on my abdomen. This is my 3rd child so I am sure on what I am feeling. You won't be able to feel the movement on the outside untill about 20 weeks. But just enjoy what you are feeling. Doctors don't know everything ! He can't tell you what you are feeling on the inside of your own body !

Good morning ladies, I'm stuck at work too. Can't wait to get out of here, then I have the next 5 days off, yay.... Rachel I'll bet anything you're feeling your baby, it's pretty common to start feeling things at 16 weeks, and even earlier if you've already had a pregnancy.....Now I wish I'd brought my salsa to work with me, nothing sounded good this morning so I didn't bring my lunch but I forgot about my salsa....I made some baked potato soup last that turned out really good unfortuanately we ate it all, no leftovers to take =(....I've been using allrecipes.com lately to find new recipes its great because you get to see what others rate them and what their suggestions are to make it better.

HeatherIsHopeful - December 21

hey michelly4... (is it safe to a__sume your name is Michelle??) welcome to the board :) I completely agree that docs dont know what you can or cannot feel in your own body.. (BTW Im the groups very own wannabe doctor LOL)

Rachel29 - December 21

I totally agree. Actually, I didn't really see the doctor, it was the nurse pract_tioner, so I wonder if that makes a difference. I probably should have made that distinction. Anyway, It doesn't happen really very often, but when I feel it, it's so cool. I've also read in books that you can feel it early too, and you're right Michelly...I don't think they can tell me what I'm feeling in my own body!

Jessicab3 - December 21

HI Michelle and welcome, I'm due June 26th and this will be my 3rd as well. I started feeling flutters too these past couple of weeks but I remember with my 1st it seemed like it took forever before I could differntiate the real thing.

HeatherIsHopeful - December 21

jessica I use allrecipies too... that potato soup sound soo good.. I have been wanting some potato soup but apparently no one has ever heard of it cause I told DH I wanted some and he was like "what the heck is that" and looked at me like I was insane.. and no restaurant around here serves it :(

Rachel29 - December 21

Potato soup sounds so good! 10:40, and I'm already thinking about food (as I munch on the tons of Christmas cookies people have brought in to work today)! I wish I was craving more vegetables. You're so lucky Heather! It's better for the baby, and you'll probably be better off too. I'll check out the allrecipies site, and maybe can find something that is healthy but doesn't gross me out!

HeatherIsHopeful - December 21

lol good luck Rachel... honestly the best remedy to food aversions and lack of appet_te is to do your own cooking. no one is going to make what you want except you. allrecipes is a great place to find easy and good recipes... I TRIED posting on the recipes forum but apparently NO ONE posts there or reads any of the posts.. so that was a flop :(

Jessicab3 - December 21

We have a resteraunt here that makes the best, so I tried to find a recipe that resembled theirs. The recipe I found is called exactly "baked potato soup" and it was pretty easy to make, the only changes I made was I added a little extra cream plus some sour cream as well since we like our soup creamy =) Next time I will also double the bacon, we realized the bacon gives it the extra flavor over other potato soup recipes. It was so yummy I'm making it again on Christmas Eve.
