Kicking Is There A Way To Calm The Baby

Last night, my little one kicked for 2 hours straight while i was trying to go to sleep. Are there any movements or anything you can do to calm the baby and stop or at least slow the kicking?

I admit that I have not looked into it, but I do not think there is much you can do. It's something we just have to deal with... and as uncomfortable as it may be, try to look on the bright side and be happy that she is so healthy and active. How far along are you?

Thanks Ca__sie. I am soo happy to feel him, but last night, kicks in the cervix wasn't making me too happy :) I'm 21 weeks, 1 day

Yea, those hurt! When they kick straight down it's painful and unpleasant. I wish you the best. All I do is rub my stomach a lot. I do it I think more for bonding, though. I love the kicks and thumps otherwise. Best of luck to ya on this.

Sometimes i get up and sit in the rocking chair. Seems as though my son likes the movements and he stops moving. I am 20w4d. Is week 40 here YET?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!

MJM, last night I was certainly wishing it was week 40 lol. Bree, thanks for the input, I rub my belly all the time. people on the train are always lookin at me funny, but that's my lil baby! :)

I have read in some books that the more active you are the less active the baby will be at that time. Movement like walking produces a rocking motion for the baby. I know when I walk alot at work mine doesnt move much but as soon as I get home and relax she makes up for it. I also feel a little better when she is more active for some reason.
