Hi, I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and on my last visit to the doctors (14 weeks) I had asked him when he could determine the s_x of the baby. He said when I come in for a level 2 u/s. I am going to the doctors this week but for a regular u/s. What is the major difference between a normal u/s and a level 2 u/s? Does it make that much of a difference in determining the s_x?

a level 2 ultrasound is the ultrasound where they check EVERYTHING! It is usually a pretty long ultrasound. They check anything and everything. It isnt just to check the s_x, they have to do the ultrasound to make sure everything is okay with the baby. they will check for downs, spinabifida, etc.
