How much weight can I lift and still be safe for the baby? I am in the mood of moving furniture around and organizing closets and stuff - some furnishings are quite heavy and I have heavy boxes (over 35 lb) in my closet i want to get rid of its contents! Thanks.

I wouldn't be lifting heavy furniture. You should check with your doctor to see if he wants to put any weight lifting restrictions on you. My doctor says it's fine to lift my 4 year old who is about 40 lbs. However, it starting to not be comfortable for me to do so.

My doctor says lifting depends on what you did before you were pregnant. so basically, it comes down to strenght that you already have. If you comfortably lifted heavy thing before, you are probably safe to now. Just be careful not to bend at the waist, you will hurt you back. Also avoid straining and pushing type things. If you are not sure, or feel like its too heavy, ask someone for help. Better to be safe than sorry.

According to my doctor you can lift, push, or pull anything that is confortable. If you have to strain, you shouldn't do it.
