Low Placed Placenta Bleeding

I'm wondering if any of you have a low placenta. I am 14w4d today and have had a few heavy, miscarriage-looking bleeding episodes so far. The doctors don't know what is causing the bleeding and every time I get an ultrasound afterwards the baby looks fine. My uterus is still too small for them to be sure that is what's causing the bleeding, but it's their best guess. Does anyone have any experience with either of these issues? (Bleeding or low placenta?)

Related to this post, I just had a little scare yesterday. I'm 26 weeks and have a low-lying placenta, which is not previa, but just close enough to the cervix to keep an eye on. Well, hubby and I had s_x and it hurt like crazy. Afterwards, I had some light spotting and freaked out. My doctor never mentioned not to have s_x, but I started wondering if s_x irritated the placenta. I called the doctor's office and they said that it is very common to have some bleeding if you have low lying placenta, especially if you have s_x or lift things...so I'm not sure if you are noticing the bleeding after such activities, but it might be the reason. My bleeding never got heavy thank God and hubby will be out of luck for the remainder of this pregnancy. Hugs :)
