Measuring Big For Dates

I am 20 weeks and my uterus is already 2 inches above my belly button. Usually it is supposed to be right at the belly button at 20 weeks, right? Anyone else have this happen? I really doubt there's more than one in there but I haven't had an ultrasound yet.

Hi concerned. I was curious why my doc told me I'm a week further along than I KNOW I am... I know the first day of my last period, know when I ovulate, & know for absolute sure my bf & I didn't conceive this baby a week earlier than we did because the day that we did was the first time I saw my bf for over a month! Yet the doc measured that the baby is the size of a baby at least a week older. Eh, the baby will come when the baby wants to, regardless of these due dates, I suppose.

Don't worry, mine grew up before it grew out.

My uterus hit my belly b___ton at 16 weeks (last week). I asked my doctor about it and she didn't seem concerned. I have an ultrasound in 3 weeks and I am waiting to be a__sured that there is just one in there. This is #4 and I have never measured large until the last month and then I have little linebackers. Are you scheduled for an ultrasound soon? I thought that most doctors now perform at least an ultrasound between 20-24 weeks.

Hi, I am also measuring 2 weeks ahead of scheduel. The doc says I am all baby, Whatever that means.... I have a feeling he is going to be a bigger baby an 8 or 9 pounder. I am 25 weeks and measure at 27 by the way.

Because of hospital back-up, my ultrasound won't be until I'm 25 weeks, which seems like a really long time away! I think probably I'm just having another big baby. My last one was 9 1/2 pounds. I just hope that if this is the case, it won't be much bigger than that!

oh yeah, and thanks for the response. It's a comfort to know that I'm not the only one!

Your definately not the only one. I'm 24 weeks and the top of my uterus is in line with the bottom of my sternum. Thats when I'm lying down, but when I stand up, it drops to about a cm above my belly b___ton. According to my dates and u/s's, I'm 24 weeks but she said my uterus has grown an inch more than usual. She said it's nothing to worry about.
