My Ob Gyn Won T Do A Gender Sonogram Until 28 Weeks

My ob/gyn won't do the gender sono until 28 weeks! It's driving my husband and I crazy! She told us she could tell but it's definitely easier later because at 20 weeks, boys can still look like girls and vice versa. Anyone else having to wait as long as me??

i had to wait until 25 weeks, but its worth the wait. Better to get told the right gender..... hang in there, it'l go by fast!

I had mine done already...but it does not mean they werent wrong...sorry that you have to wait but at least when you find out you'll be more positive...good luck

If a baby is lying in a good position, the baby only has to be 20 weeks. I know this, as I have seen alot of my friends' ultrasound pics, and they were very obviously boys! It's just as easy to tell if it is a girl, the baby need only be lying in a good position. This is just your doctors preference, it is not the truth that it is hard to differentiate.

I had an ultrasound at 18.5 weeks for another reason and we were able to see his boy parts pretty clearly on screen. If there isn't a medical reason to have one sooner, it seems like you will have to wait. I have had a friend who told her doctor she hadn't felt the baby move for a few days and her Dr sent her for an ultrasound, and then she found out what she was having. That is kinda sneaky I know, but people do it. Good luck to you.

I have to wait until 28 weeks too. My doc does it when he does the glucose screen thing. His reasons are: -you have a better chance of being able to accurately predict the s_x then, - you have to drink that stuff & hang out for an hour anyway, this helps the time go by, - your bladder is already full after drinking that stuff,-you baby moves more after the sugar drink too. I was really upset about it, especially since my MIL is having a shower for me at 25 weeks & I had to register for nothing but green & yellow, but I've come terms with it now. Oh well...

i found out at 21weeks that i was having a boy... the midwife said to me that its perfectly clear that its a wee boy and theres no way its wrong so im over the moon.... its different for people tho it really depends how well ur child is developing and what way its sitting in the womb... good luck everyone mwah xxx <3 susie in northern ireland

I WOULD NOT HAVE THE TEST DONE LESS THAN 25 WEEKS, I HAD A TEST DONE AT 16 WEEKS THEY SAID IT WAS A BOY NOW I AM 20 WEEKS AND THEY THINK IT IS A GIRL STILL NOT 100% SURE, SO IT SI WORTH THE WAIT...

I am having my ultrasound to tell the s_x next week. I will be 18 weeks. My doctor said I could come between 18 - 20 weeks. I am sure they will tell us if they are not 100% sure - which is fine - we will just confirm on the next visit. (If the baby cooperates!) Good luck.

i found out at 20 weeks. Most of my friends found out around 20 weeks, however, i am amazed at how many mistakes were made. I have had 3 friends so far that were told they were having a girl and ended up having a boy. All of these women were told around the 20th week. So... although it would drive me crazy too, I think once you find out, it will be a sure thing:) I am having a boy. Here's hopin' that's true! I think wer'e safe though.

KATERINA, I have same problem like you... They told me around 16 weeks that it could be a BOY and then after 6 weeks letter they said 80% sure it's girl but not 100%. I don't know what to do? Please keep me inform about your situation and I will do same thing too...
