I feel asleep on my side on my floor, i made a comfy bed with blankets and a body pillow so i wouldnt rool, im a dedicated belly sleeper, well...i slept for about 3 hours and i woke up flat on my somtach...im was 20 weeks at the time, this was the day after my wedding...well, i woke up to use the bathroom, and before i could get there, i collapsed my knees from a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, and then it just wouldnt go away...it was hard to describe, so i woke up my DH and had him rub my back, as i was sobbing, well it eventually came to the point where i called my OB/GYN, and had to go to the ER and then up to the maternity ward for Monitouring...it kinda sucked...but the checked everything, my cervex and the babies movmentments and heart rates, i can still feel him moving, should i be worried for the rest of my pregnancy, its my first, could it have just been a fluke?

what did they say at the hospital? if I get up too quickly in the middle of the night I get a weird sharp pain that goes a way pretty quickly. My dr said it was from your ligaments stretching and your abdomen wall and ab muscles separating. I wouldnt worry about sleeping on your stomach. I was told that its ok until it gets uncomfortable, you CANT smush your baby.

What did the hospital say? I agree with aggie 03. I also used to have sharp pains around that time. I was told it was just trapped gas in my intestines. I used to cry everytime this happened to me. It was soooooo painful. I also get cramps from time to time at the bottom of my belly due to ligaments stretching that if i'm walking, I have to slow down quite a bit and sometimes even stop. Very painful.
