Has anyone painted while pregnant? My doctor said it was o.k., but I have read different things!!!

Latex paint is fine. Just make sure the room is well-ventilated.

Painting with latex is totally fine, my husband & I just painted our kitchen last week - I'm 17 weeks. Paint prior to the late 1970's used to contain lead which was very unsafe to use, but today's paints wont harm the baby. Just properly ventalate the room, or wear a mask if the smell makes you queasy.

My dr told me the same, that it is safe.

We had to paint our entire inside of the house just last month, but I didn't do a lot of it because I was nervous about the fumes. I've also been told that as long as the place is well ventilated, that you should be fine. Keep the windows open.

You just have to make sure it is water based paint- not oil based and have a window open.

Hello. I see a lot of posts about the actual painting itself, by please remember that the sanding part may be harmful. If the area to be sanded is old, it may be lead based paint. Be sure to wear a mask while sanding...
