Hi everyone, I had some pink spotting tonight when i wipe kinda up there. has anyone else had this or having this and been told it normal? I am calling my ob and/or family dr tomorrow morning for an appt. this normally wouldn't have concerned me because it wasn't a lot but still pink enough, and that my ob thinks my cervix is soft and was concerned and was back and forth about a cerclage. now i'm paranoid, its late and i can't sleep. and i'm actually scared. I can feel the baby moving and kicking. i don't want anything to happen to it. this so sucks and i really hope it nothing. Also, for the last couple of days i've been feeling like there is pressure on my butt and cervix...i googled it and a lot of women said that they had it and the ob explained to them that it's the baby putting pressure on the cervix but that it would alleviate once the uterus gets bigger and the baby moves up. but with the spotting i'm nervous. Shopping I know you went through a horrible mc due to IC, and i hate to bring it up or bring back the memories, but mauybe you can help me with noticing any signs of a dilating cervix or preterm labor. again i'm so sorry to bring it up, just reallyy need your help. thank you.

Sims, I had pinkish spotting last thursday night (I'm 17 weeks) and I woke up early friday morning with cramps in my lower abdomen and back so of course I went straight to the emergency -I've had no spotting or cramps so far so this really freaked me out and it was too early....my dr's office hadn't opened up yet. So after bloodwork, a pelvic exam, and an ultrasound, everything is fine.....the doctor said sometimes people have spotting for no apparent reason and thought that the 'cramping' was early braxton hicks....I think it's probably still too early for that, but since I've stopped spotting and cramping and the baby is fine, I'm going to try not to worry about it. Do you have any pain/cramping too? If you're really concerned, I'd just go straight to the ER, in fact, that's what they told me to do if it happens again and I'm worried. Good luck -I hope it's just one of those weird things that pa__ses.

i think i just over did it the day before, i was walking around the shops for a couple of hours and was beat in the end. i think i really over did it, and that's maybe why i had spotting. I went to my dr this morning and she checked the cervix and said it was high and closed and it looked fine to her. and she said just to take it easy and if it happens again and keeps persisting to go to the ER. And this friday I have my 19 week ultrasound anyways and she said to include her in the results with my ob. so they'll have a picture of the cervix on friday and if see if there are any issue. what a scare, i'm not spotting now, and didn't have any cramping with it, so i think it was just over doing myself. thanks for your reply eastcoast. I hope you're doing well now too.

Hey Sims, just to clarify (not to be a b___h) but I didn't have a miscarriage. Miscarriage is before 20 weeks, my daughter was born alive at 24 weeks and pa__sed away the next day due to her severe prematurity, she was what the NICU doctors called a micro-preemie or something. Anywho, I wouldn't worry too much about the little bit of pink you saw, your doing the right thing by calling your doc and requesting a visit. There is sooo much extra blood flow down there during pregnancy that a little blood could be anything, and is most times harmless. Definelty have her check your cervix. Umm, with my premature delivery I had lower back pain for weeks and my undies got a little too wet on two occasions and I know I didn't pee on myself so just to be catious I went to the ER to see if I was leaking fluid. I wasn't BUT I was 5 cm dilated. My body kept going into labor because it thought it was time due to my opened cervix, so they stopped my labor 7 days in a row until my water eventually broke from a contraction and I had to deliver. When my water broke was the only time I ever saw blood, and it was just a tiny bit. I hope I helped, keep us posted on how your doctors visit goes.

Opps you already went to the doc, I missed that part sorry. Well I'm glad everything is good, great job for investigating.
