Recall On Peter Pan Peanut Butter

Ok, I have eaten like 2 jars of this since I have been PG. I just recently bought JIF because it was on sale. I am so worried that this might be why my baby has a spot on her bowel. If you did not hear it is because the jars have a higher risk of salmonella...anyone else eat a lot of peanut butter and are worried?

This is the brand of PB I use as well. I still have some in my house and I was reading on CNN that the product code on the lid is 2111 on the affect jars. I'm sure you have thrown your jars out as you finished them. If you had salmonella poisnening you would know it!! I actually did come down with a food borne illness very early in my pregnancy and my doctor said that food poisening for the most part does not affect the baby.

Ok, now I'm a little bit freaked out. My finace just sent me any email telling me the jar that we have has the product code 2111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I have not felt sick at all and I have not eaten that much of it.

Oh Thanks that is good to know. I have just ate so much of it that I was thinking that I might have just chalked it up to pregnancy symptoms if it had made me sick. I have thrown out the jars so I do not know if they carried that code or not. i do not live in any of the states were cases have been reported so I guess that is a good sign.

Oh how I wish I still had my jars. I have not felt sick either so I have called my doctor just to ease my mind. I eat it every day.

I read this story this morning & didn't think much about it. But I just checked the jar I keep in my desk drawer here at work, and yep, 2111. I have already eaten most of it, and nothing has happened, and I haven't eaten any for over a week, but just thinking about it, I am making myself sick. I ONLY eat Peter Pan Honey Roast.... :( msnbc.com says you can return the lids to Con Agra Foods for a refund, though. JEN - what did your doctor say?

You would know my doctor is not in today, but she said that she would keep my chart by the phone in case he called. The nurse thought it would make me very sick and I would know something was wrong by eating it every day but she is going to keep my chart out until she talks to the doctor. I wish I knew what the numbers on jars were. i guess I could always call the grocery store I bought them at and see if they showed any with those numbers in the store.

I saw this thread and looked at my pb and it had the product code 2111. I completely freaked out since I have been eating it the last two weeks. But I've been reading about salmonella poisoning and all of the sites do say that this type of food poisoning does not harm the baby. Also, the symptoms sound like you would know if you had it. Its not a long incubation period like E coli has. I can't tell you how worried I was when I first saw that code.

I found FOUR jars with that code. I am sending the lids back & getting a refund. Even though we have been eating out of three of them (dh & I eat different kinds) and we are fine, I can' t bring myself to eat any more! Go to conagrafoods.com for the address to send your lids.
