IM JUST WONDERING HOW SITTING AT A DESK AT WORK IS ANY DIFFRENT THAN TRAVELING IN A CAR OR PLANE AND SITTING FOR LONG AMOUNTS OF TIME,THE DR.'S SAY THAT CAN BE HARMFUL.IM JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS TO SIT FOR SO LONG ALL DAY AND IF IT COULD BE HARMFUL???

Well a plane is different due to allt_tude pressure etc. The car and desk I think would be a little the same.

I sit all day and it really sucks. with my first one I was walking all day at my job (which can suck too at times) but now, I'm only 24 weeks and i'm feeling pain in my hips, legs and back that I didn't experience till the end of my 1st pregnancy. there's alot to be said for excercise.

I sit all the time too. Im 16 weeks and I cant sit comfortable - the baby is really low and my lower back and hips hurt. Im going to try to get up and walk around more during the day.

I'm at a desk all day too and I just get up & walk around when I have to.

the reason why i think that dr said it can be harmful to sit all day is because of you are at more of a rish for blood clots while pregnant. when a friend of mine went on maternity leave they told her to walk a couple times of day to prevent clots because she was not as active like she would be if she was still working.

Im 16 1/2 preggers and I work in a call ctr. Im pretty much sitting all day and on the phone most of the time. I would only stand up if I needed to go to the restroom/take a break/take my lunch break and thats about it. I think its harmful to you (us mommies) bcoz our back seems to hurt more when where not doin anything (ie. walking, stretching, exercise) I havent talk to my Dr about it yet but for sure I will definitely bring this issue up to him if I can do something about it.

Does it help if you prop your feet up under your desk? That's what I've been doing.......

I have a foot rest under my desk. That kinda helps me through the day. :o)

I sit at a desk 8 hours a day myself... I have a foot stool up under the desk. I have found that my feet swell alot because of the sitting... every 30 minutes or so I try to get up and walk around the office for a few minutes... just to get the circulation going.... I am 27 weeks preggo right now...
