Sitting All Day Long

Hello everyone, I work in an office and most of the time I'm in front of the computer, besides going to lunch and some stuff I gotta do outside the office (not much) I'm sitting all the time. So I'm wondering if this affects me more than it would if I wasn't pregnant (18 weeks), meaning my back, my bladder or something. Anyone got any advice? Thanks a lot!

Hi Sonia, I too work in an office and sit all day. I try and walk for my morning and afternoon break. I often sit at my desk and flex my feet towards me so my legs don't cramp up, additionally I stretch at night, the What to Expect book has some good stretches that I think really help. Good luck!

You should try to get up every hour to walk around. And during that time you walk around, use the bathroom even if you don't feel the need to. It'll prevent any UTI's. I work as an a__sistant sitting all day long. Never got up to use the bathroom and got a really bad UTI.

I am a Coder at a hospital so I sit all day too. I try and get up every hour and I noticed my ankles are starting to swell too so now I keep a box under my desk to rest my feet on...I would just try and take a walk for like 5 minutes every hour even if it's just down the hallway. Plus you don't want to get hemorrhoids when you are further along that can occur from sitting too long too.
