Spot On Placenta

Hello everyone. I am new to the forums and today I am 17 weeks 4 days. Unfortunately, I had to go to the ER last night because I either had food poisoning or a stomach flu. I couldn't keep anything down, not even water. My doc told me to go because she was concerned that dehydration could affect my baby. They gave me IV fluids and did an ultrasound on me and the tech said everything looks good but the ER doc told me I have a small spot on the posterior placenta. He said that "it means nothing." I tried calling my OB today to ask her about it but of course she was too busy with patients to call back. Does anyone know what that is or what could cause it? I would hate to have to wait until my next appointment to finally find out.

Oh gezzzz, I had a similar problem when I went to the ER for cramping a while back. It ended up just being a shadow and my OBGYN told me the ER doctors are not obstetricians and should not scare people like that. What he should have done is told you to get a follow up ultrasound from your obstetrician. Sorry you have to go through this with no real answers, it sucks your doctor could not call you back. Mines policy is call every patient back by the end of the day, pregnant woman need answers!!!!! haha All the best to you and good luck!
