I was wondering.....I have a friend who had lots of problems with swelling in her feet in the latter part of her pregnancy. Right now I'm only 18 weeks and feel fine, but was wondering if there was anything I could do to help prevent this type of swelling? She was misterable because of it......

put your feet up every chance you get you'll be surprised how much it helps.

I have major issues with swelling. I am almost at my 24 week mark and have been swelling like crazy. If your on your feet alot, put your feet up every chance you get...if you have a sit down job or sit alot... it helps if you get up and walk around for a minute, it helps with circulation. Watch your sodium intake. Its suprising... canned foods, frozen dinners, and fast foods are the worst... so are salad dressings. High sodium intake will cause you to puff up fast, unfortunately I craved sodium-filled foods... I am having to watch that... caffine and sodas carry high sodium too. Drink a lot of water and juices. Wear really good shoes... make sure they are a little roomy... none of this actually stops swelling... in fact my doctor told me that its pretty much impossible to stop... but these options will surely help with the amount of swelling...
