Throwing Up Occasionally

Hi ladies, this may be silly... my question is are there other women out there who are worried about their baby when they vomit? My doctor reassures me that the baby is not affected while I am vomitting. The child is affected if I cannot hold anything down. I am 16 weeks, I am able to eat, still very physically active, but I am just worried about this. I think 'oh no- what if there are going to be birth defects, etc'? No laughing!!-haha- I giggle at my worries, but as a first time mom I know these worries are normal. Anyone else out there worried about this type of thing. Just some reassurance would be great.

don't worry about any birth defects from vomiting. there's no relation. your biggest concern would be the baby's size and weight gain, but believe me...unless you've got a SERIOUS issue with vomitting, the baby will make sure to take what it needs and you will be the one left missing nutrients and stuff. by serious, I mean.....enough for them to put you on an IV to get nutrients into you. don't worry. some women are just more prone to being sick while theyre' pregnant. doesn't mean you wont have a big beautiful baby!

Thank mls. It is just nice to hear this from someone else. Did you have any sickness? When are you due? Cheers

I'm due March 28. I fortunatly wasn't very sick with my first or this one. But two of my best friends vomitted all the way thru their pregnancies and still had big fat healthy babies. so I got to experience their concerns with this same issue and what their doctors said to them. don't worry....everything will be just fine! congrats!
