Any other turkey babies out there? I'm due on Thanksgiving, the 24th. I know this is a ways off, but is anyone else planning to get Christmas shopping done before having the baby? I'm planning the easy route this year...gift certificates for everyone! And no baking, no decorating, no cards. Everyone else can worry about holiday cheer this year. Well, I'm just doing a little daydreaming into the future...it's better than this annoying stage of sickness without any of the cool signs of being pregnant. I can't wait till I start showing.

I am due Nov. 14th. I have had 3 due dates so who knows... One at end of Oct. one on Nov 11th and now the 14th. The baby will comw when it wants to. The is our 2nd. We have a 6 year old boy. We find out what it is on the 30th of June. I cant wait! How to do ladies feel about the afp test? Anyone done it of decided not to?I have 2 weeks to decide and I really dont know. I have not been able to get on this site often lately. My husband and i own a childcare and it has been keeping me so busy and ofcourse tired. I am feeling alittle better as far as sickness but I get really bad headaches... How is everyone else?

I am due Nov 29 & yes, I'm planning on getting ALL of my Christmas shopping done before hand. I'm planing on bottles of wine for everyone. We have a local wonery right up the street. I'm doing cards this year too as kind of Happy Holidays/Birth announcment sinc eit will be so close to the holidays. I'm planning on addressing, signing & stamping everything in the beginning of November so all I have to do is insert hte picture, stuff & lick. As far as the CHristmas shopping goes, I will also have all the shopping to do for my stepson and I just can't see myself battleing Christmas crowds with a new baby & I just don't want to have to stress about anything. So hopefully, I'll have the christmas shopping done by the end of October, wrapped, tagged and ready to go.

I'm going to do the afp test. I figure that it can't really hurt anything. Plus it will be nice if it is negative just to have that rea__surance. Adn I'm not the type to freak out if it were positive. I don't know if I'd do an amnio though, I'd have to really think that one through, although they say if you get it done by a good tech then you have nothing to worry about. I had my first experience with the headaches on SUnday & Monday - YUCK! I took tylenol & even that didn't help. I haven't had one since though so hoping thta maybe I won't have anymore. I think I triggered it by drinking a ton of Sprite the night before (we were at a wedding) and I'm not a soda drinker ever but it was the only thing non-alcoholic caffeine free that the bar had.

Lynn, that's a good idea about the holiday/birth announcement. Darn. Maybe I'll have to rethink my decision to not do cards. I'm sure I'll be dying to brag to everyone about the baby. kim j, what is the benefit of doing an afp test? The book I have doesn't really say. Is there anything you can do if you get a positive?

Kimber - May 19

Ah-ha! We've moved! Hey Lynn, I'm getting the AFP test done also (on the 31st). SE, the AFP test is a blood test that may determine genetic defects in your baby. There are a lot of false positives with this test, so a lot of people don't take it because of the undue stress related to a false positive. However, if it's negative, it's a great feeling not to have any further testing because you have some peace of mind about your baby's health. If you do get a positive result, it just means that your baby may be at a higher risk for abnormalities and then you can decide whether to do the more invasive testing such as amniocentesis. Have a great day, everyone!!!

yay a new thread.. hehehe. SE: i'm due the same day, but i'm canadian, so it's not actually thanksgiving here (ours is in october). I haven't really thought about christmas shopping yet. I guess it would be a great idea to do it early, while i'm still working and have extra money!! hehe. I have planned my christmas though. My mom is coming to our house to cook dinner so i don't have to cook or take my newborn baby anywhere. (nice to nap when you need it). My in-laws should be nice and mad about that again this year. (They don't understand that because we are our own family now, we want christmas at home for our son, and now baby #2. Start our own traditions, you know?). Should be fun... yay.... love arguing with my MIL... (ya right). OH well. I still have to get through the summer, and i know that will be hell.

Hello ladies! Im from Chicago 26 yrs and am due Nov 5. Kim I turned down the afp test. I think it will only make me more stressed out and at this point the baby will come out the way it is.

hey ladies... man, i have had some wierd dreams lately... mostly they were just awkward but last night i had my first taste of one that scared me.... i was in a huge city, and i was running through an alley because i was scared of something, dont know what it was.. but then i saw this little girl hunching behind a trash can and I was like what are you doing.. and she said dont talk to me they're going to find me and kill me.... and the next thing i know i see the girl start running and the police force showed up and they shot her.... several times.... it totally freaked me out.... i didn't understand it.. but then right after that dream i dreamt that i was at my moms house and the cat pooped all over everything.. haha... its so wierd sometimes!

Lilmim - I have the same views about wanting to do Christmas at home with *our* family. When I was little we never had a Christmas at home. We spent all of Christmas break at my grandmothers house & I hated it. I never got to sleep in my own bed & then go outside & play with my friends the next day and show all of my new toys, etc,etc.. so I want to do Christmas morning at my house now. Last year was the first year that I spent the holidays without my parents (I was 28) and that was because they spent Christmas in Sweden with my brother. Plus, I don;t want to make a habit of traveling during the holidays every year - it can be so stressful. My MIL is a good 6 hour drive from our house & just can't ever see us carting Santa presents, dogs, present for eachother & everything else up to her house - we'd have to rent a U-Haul to get there! As it is we alternate Thanksgiviings with the in-laws and might try to do easter following the Thanksgiving that we don't visit them, I'm not sure yet. I don;t exactly want to use up all my vacation time visiting the in-laws you know!

I had a dream last night I was part of Diana Ross's entourage following a concert. Very strange, I can't remember the last time I even heard a diana ross song!
