IM 13 WKS PREGNANT AND IM WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS HEARD THAT REACHING OVER YOUR HEAD OR CROSSING YOUR LEGS CAN HARM THE BABY???THERES SO MUCH TO WORRY ABOUT ALREADY AND THEN PEOPLE TELL U ALL KINDS OF NEW STUFF TO WORRY ABOUT.

Well if that is the case I am in a lot of trouble. I always have my legs crossed and how do you wash your hair if you don't reach over your head. I think it's a old tale. Keep on living your life. Eat healthy and take care of yourself. My doctor always laughs when I tell him about things I might of read on this site.

Oh and by the way. I had a death in my husbands family recently. It was someone close. They are of Jewish decent and I am not. I was at the cemetary when someone told me that Jews believe that pregnant women shouldn't be at cemetaries. I replied by saying it's a good thing I don't believe that. That pretty much ended the convo.

That's an old wives tale. It used to be believed that lifting your hands over your head would cause the cord to wrap around the baby. It's just not true.

Yeah, the arm thing is an oldwives tale, exactly what ... said. Crossing your legs is not harmful to the baby but bad for your circulation.

I've heard the over the head thing too. It's perfectly alright. What you don't want to do is lift heavy things, especially not over your head. You shouldn't do anything that feels like a strain. Be sure to do your prenatal stretches.

My doctor is the same when I tell him things that I have heard, he just kind of laughs. He said your body and mother natures know what to do and what not to do, he is just along for the ride to make sure me and the baby are safe! Its funny the things people tell you. My great aunt told me one time not to stretch for things...I just kind of laughed and said OK
