I'm 17 weeks today and having a hard time figuring out what month I'm exactly in. I've googled this and I'm getting confusing results (lunar months, or calendar months)...oh why does it have to be this complicated?!! help ;-)

First, you have to choose.. Do you want to count by calander months, or do you want to count by Lunar months? If you want to count by lunar months, it is easiest to count weeks......4 weeks = 1 month pregnant for a total of 10 months which equals 40 weeks total. So, at 17 weeks, you would be 4 months and 1 week. If you want to count calander months, you would use the date of your LMP and from that date (say your lmp was October 23), one month would be the next month, that date, so November 23 would be one month. So, if you don't want to confuse yourself, it is easiest if you pick which way you want to count. Really, in the end, it all comes out the same. For me, I find it easiest to count by weeks and use Lunar Months.....Its really not that complicated once you figure out which way you want to count.

I would say 4 months, 1 week too. If someone asks you can just say 17 weeks :) I'm 15 weeks so I say either that or almost 4 months. it's all so ridiculous isn't it :) I mean when you find out your pregnant you are already 4 weeks pregnant...geez! I think that whatever works for you will be great!

Mrs. Vegas, you ARE in your 4th month, but you would not tell people that you are 4 months pregnant because you are not a complete 4 months......you are a complete 3 months and 2 weeks......so you are technically in your 4th month, you are just not yet 4 months pregnant. Its like counting by weeks...you are not 1 week pregnant until the END of that first week........so you wouldn't tell people you are one week in the beginning of that week...does that make sense?
