What Type Of Paint To Use

Hi everyone. I'm trying to figure out what type of paint to use. Now when Laurie from Trading Spaces was pregnant she used a certain kind. I'm trying to figure out what she used, or if anyone knows what type to use. I sent TLC a question about it but all I got in return were these 2 links: http://www.fetal-exposure.org/PAINT.html http://www.babycentre.co.uk/expert/536423.html . Everytime I do a search on what "TYPE" to use , I only get info about toxins etc. I know there has to be something out there. If I dont find it out I'll just ask my doctor for advise. What has you all used if any? Thank you for your help. I'm at the beginning of my 5th month so I still have time to search, no rush.

Hey Mary I don't know if this helps but here goes.I asked my doctor with my last pregnancy and he told me to use water based paints along with ventilation. He said oil based has a lot of toxins and is hard on a person even when not pregnant, also with oil base paint the smell stays strong for quite some time. Good Luck!!

Yes ... that's right ... I was going to tell you that latex is better than oil-base paints. Latex dries fast and oil takes forever to dry ... get a latex with an Eggshell Finish (some places call it Satin Finish.)

Good question. How about what brand to use?

I bought latex Dutch Boy for the baby's room. My doc said it's just fine and to keep a window open or a fan sucking air out for ventilation. Totally safe.
