I work at the Call Ctr and Im 12 wks right now. Lately Ive noticed that Ive been really moody/crabby and it feels like....this place is makin it more worst than how I feel. I hardly walk/stand not unless Im on break for 30 mins and lunch for 45 mins. I get up to go to the restroom n stuff n get some water but most of my time are spent on the phone, facing the computer, and just sitting. I told my hubby that I would work until I can then probably put in my 2 wks notice, Im plannin on not coming back here coz I want to spend as much as I can w/ our baby (our 1st). Any advice? Comments? Thanks!

I don't have any advice but I can offer some empathy! I used to work at a call center as well and I absolutely HATED it. Not only were the callers rude (they made me want to cry all the time) but sitting still for so long was very frustrating. I can't imagine doing it now while pregnant - I'd go nuts! My husband wants me to go back to that job because it paid well but I absolutely refuse - no one realizes how stressful working at a call center is until they have done it themselves for some time. At first it's fun and easy - then towards the end there is only so much that you can put up with! I completely feel your pain, and I wish you the best

Thanks for that feedback. I've been in the CSR business for more than 4 yrs now and this place that Im working at right now........really gets into my nerves. Ive been here for 1 yr now plus Its 10 mins away from our house, my time are really flexible if I needed to request time off to go for a Dr. Appt and stuff, and it pays well too. Right now.....Im not showing yet but I was plannin on resigning once I hit 5 mos or so.....Im not sure how big would I be when Im that far along...Im still waitin. But everything you said is all true when it comes to working to a call ctr.

I would say that if you feel you aren't able to do your work to the best of your ability because of moodiness due to hormones, or any other factor due to pregnancy, then that would be the time I would suggest putting in notice. Not to mention like Erin said... if the callers are making you cry, it would probably be a good time to take a nice long break.

I ALSO KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO SIT FOR SO LONG AT WORK.ITS SOOOOOOOO FRUSTERATING!!!!I PLAN TO WORK UNTIL I JUST REALLY CANT STAND IT ANY MORE.I GO PART TIME IN JAN.,ONLY WORKING 3 DAYS A WK AND THEN IM GONNA WORK UNTIL THE BIRTH UNLESS I JUST CANT TAKE IT.

Jennifer and Amy, thanks for all your feedback too. I would love to put in my 2 wks notice right now but unfortunately I cant.......I would feel bad that my hubby is the only one working and me.....just sitting around the house doing nothing. I would like to work PT or something.....but something that I can exercise (walking n stuff) I do outbound calls here at work and no the callers doesnt make me cry.....I guess it all depends on the people I talked to. I wouldnt say that this place is a stressfull environment but there are times are.....Ughhhh don't know what to do....Grrrr So, when is the best time to put in your 2 wks notice? How far along were you when u put in your 2 wks notice? Did u come to work after your pregnancy? Im allowed 12wks unpaid leave and later today we have a meeting about our benefits (open enrollment) Im not sure if I should apply for STD (short term disability) or not....coz Im already pregnant. Hmmm I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for all your comments. :)

I work customer service and preggo or not there are going to be customers that make you want to cry. You should speak with your supervisor about taking more breaks because it is not healthy to sit still so long. I would try to stick it out as long as you can and the closest you can until you give birth. Personally, I'm due 04/26 but am going to stop work 03/31..just want to make sure that everything is ready and I'm sure I'll be so uncomfortable by then that I won't be so pleasant to work around!

Im holding on.....not sure for how long though. I told myself that once I showed thats when Im gonna file for my 2 wks notice...Im only 3 mos and 1 wk so not sure if by 5 mos or 6 mos Im already huge. LOL Thanks for your feedback.
