Worried About Baby

I will be 18 w on Friday and I am not showing at all. Also, I have not felt the baby move. I'm worried something is wrong b/c I take belly pics weekly and I have not grown since 11 weeks AT ALL! Everyone I talk to said they felt their baby move around 16-18 weeks. Anyone else in the same boat? What do you pregnant women think??????

I don't think that you should worry, some women start feeling the baby anywhere from 20-22 weeks. May be you can rent the doppler monitor to give you piece in mind. I rented one and it's great! it really makes me feel better to hear the heartbeat every time i have a panic attack. Good luck!

Holly - I wouldn't worry -- everyone is different. I didn't feel my first baby until 19 weeks but have had several friends not feel the baby until 22 -24 weeks because of the location of the placenta (it was btwn the baby and the mom). Also, I didn't feel like a grew at all with my first baby until 22 weeks or so. I didn' t "show" for a long time. I am still not big with my second baby but definitely bigger (with that I will say, I am 20 weeks and still in regular clothes...). When is your next doctor's apt? It will be rea__suring for you to hear the h/b.. but again, I am sure everything is okay. If you are really worried, call your doctor - I am sure they will let you come in to hear the h/b.. they do it all the time. Good Luck and congratulations! :)

I'm not that big either and I'm 18 weeks. I have not really felt anything...I think sometimes I do, but then Im not sure if its really the baby or gas bubbles. My pregnancy is so normal I don't even feel like Im pregnant really...I feel better when I had my ultrasounds, but they only come every 4 weeks and thats a long time to wait!

Lisa - I didn't feel my first baby until I was 19 weeks. I have friends that didn't feel there baby until 22-24 weeks. A lot depends on how you are built and the position of the placent in relationship to you and the baby (sometimes it is between you so you don't feel the baby that early). Unfortuantely I had m/s so I definitely knew I was pregnant.. but I have had friends similar to you.. be thankful it is so easy and enjoy! :)

To Holly - Oh, I feel grateful that it's an easy pregnancy, don't get me wrong. Just pregnancy worries...when you don't feel different sometimes you naturally worry. I don't all the time, I just wished I felt something. I'm not overweight, I'm in pretty good shape and I have no idea about my uterus or anything...oh well, come on 22-24 weeks! :)

BE CAREFUL ON THE DOPPLER MY DOC SAYS IT CAN BE HARMFUL TO BABY IF USED DAILY-CAN CAUSE HEART PROBLEMS IN FUTURE! IF YOUR NOT SURE ABOUT THE BABY ASK THE DOCTOR TO HEAR THE HEARTBEAT AT LEAST! GOOD LUCK!

g-i have never heard that a doppler can be harmful in ANY WAY. I have talked to many doctors and my mother is a nurse midwife and they all say that dopplers are perfectly safe.
