I'm 21 wks and my doc told me to take cranberry pills to help clear up a minor yeast infection. He doesn't want me to do monistat or anything for another few weeks. Does anyone else have any suggestions? thnks :)

yogurt...if you like it. I would take the cranberry pills since your doc said to, but yogurt contains cultures to help ward off yeast infections. I was told before to drink cranberry juice everyday (when I wasn't pg and I had a bladder infection: urinary tract infection: and yeast infection at one time...talk about painful) I hate cranberry juice. They suggested that drinking the varieties are still the same benefits (cran-apple etc). But if you can stomach eating yogurt, add that to your diet everyday. At least it comes in many more flavors! This is one of the joys of pg (yuck).

Hey there Suzie: I've heard of the cranberry remedy but never tried it. I don't ever treat my yeast infections with monistat or any other medications - I find that for me, they go away just as fast as they do when treated if I just keep the area clean and exposed to air whenever I can (try sleeping without underwear and not wearing underwear when you can get away with it). For instant itch relief, I LOVE the vagisil wipes (cream is too messy for me!) They're flushable and they work fast. Good luck, I hope it goes away quick, they can be so nasty!

Thanks ladies - I didn't even realize I had one until the tests came back (?!) I'm just glad it wasn't bacterial vaginosis!
