brief history - i have always had regular 28 day right down to the day (except while nursing on the mini pill – constant spotting/bleeding) with no breakthrough bleeding whether I was on or off birth control. i started the patch in july of 2010 & discontinued it last month (dec 2010). i had AF thurs dec 9 & started a new patch that sun dec 12. it didn’t stick well & I may or may not have been a day or so late changing patches that last cycle. Around sun dec 26 (would be ovulation if not on b.c.) I began brown spotting which turned into a medium flow of only brown blood for 3 days (never had breakthrough before that). That was my last patch which I removed on sun jan 2. I got AF a day early on wed jan 5. I went to my obgyn & decided I no longer wanted the patch & wanted to switch to a pill. She told me to start it on sun jan 9 (the day I should have applied a new patch if I continued to use that). I was a day late starting it (mon jan 10). I took the first two pills mon & tues & then completely forgot the rest of the week (I was so used to using the patch). Yesterday (mon jan 17) I remembered & took two pills. Last night I began what felt like ovulation pain (lower dull backache almost like AF was coming) & pains in my ovaries. I also started very light brown spotting yesterday (enough for a pantyliner nothing more). Today I feel mild cramping in my lower abdomen. I want to just throw out this pack & start fresh this Sunday because I’m so confused as to what I should do about the missing pills but now I’m wondering if I could really be ovulating? What are the chances that I could become pregnant?? (I last had unprotected s_x sun. jan 16 & almost everyday prior to that). Any input would be appreciated thank you!!

correction in the subject - probably more than 4 pills missed. not even sure anymore!

also just discovered spotting is a little heavier now (enough for a tampon but not enough to fill it)
