I called the doctor and my levels are only 182. She said that im 1-2 weeks pregnant. I dont know what that means. I was suppose to get my period on April 6th..so im 5 days late. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. This is so frustrating. Do i still have any hope??

From everything I read, One blood test is not enough to show anything except if you are pregnant or not. You need multiple test to see what the number's are doing. (1) Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and deliver a perfectly healthy baby. The results on an ultrasound after 5 - 6 weeks gestation are much more accurate than using hCG numbers (2) A single hCG reading is not enough information for most diagnoses. When there is a question regarding the health of the pregnancy, multiple testings of hCG done a couple of days apart give a more accurate look at a__sessing the situation (3) hCG levels should not be used to date a pregnancy since these numbers can vary so widely

Here is the link that those quotes came from, it also has a chart showing what HCG levels should be at during certain weeks. Your's seems to be in the normal range. Good luck and congratulation's on your pregnancy! http://www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html (remember to remove any - - -)

I agree with Celia! Probably everything is fine! In stead of asking all of us, why don't you call the office and tell them ou need more info, and ask to check the level again (for a 2-day later doubling check). Try to be calm; your tiny baby needs it! best to you!

Thanks Celia and Lala. My doctors nurse isnt nice and is very blunt. She told me my level, said thats the 1-2weeks range, and said shes transferring my papers to the 'high risk' obgyn (like last time). Im gonna wait for them to call me and if its not before friday i'll tell my doc id like another bloodtest (check all my levels-iron and such) Its just scary when you hear the number. Thanks again for your help!!

Kira Lynn, I had a level 82 (something like that) when I was just over 4 weeks. The nurse kept telling me it was really low. They had me retest a week later and it was 2800. Then I had an u/s that showed only a sac, and then at 8 weeks they got the heartbeat. I'm 19 weeks pregnant and baby is moving and everything is fine. Try not to let the first number worry you too much (easier said than done) It's the next number that is more important. BTW, I had also m/c a couple months before this pregnancy, so I know how scary it is. Hang in there and keep us posted! Prayers for you and baby!

im confused if your 5 days late doesnt that make you 5 weeks pregnet?

Amber #2 - April 11

Curly, that is what she is saying. She should be nearly 5 weeks pregnant, however her levels are only measuring at 1-2 weeks according to the doctor. That is why she is freaking out and is worried. Good luck Kira_lynn! We'll be thinking of you sweetie! Keep us posted and try not to worry too much (much easier said than done)!
