DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT MONISTAT OR GYNAZOLE

Hello. I saw my ob/gyn on Tuesday. She did a pap & said I have a yeast infection. She prescribed Gynazole but my insurance does not cover it, so I called the dr. back. The nurse told me I could try Monistat 1 but it may not work for me. Now the nurse said it not the doctor, the dr. is on vacation. So I am concerned, I bought Monistat, but I don't want to open it because what if I need the Gynazole dosage( hope that makes sense). Plus I don't have any symptoms of the yeast infection( no itching, burning, odor, noticable color) so how will I know the Monistat worked or not? I was actually crying a lil while ago because I can't afford to pay the co-pay to go see the dr. after I take the medication and pay for the meds. Please answer asap.

Monistat is the brand most used. I don't see why it wouldn't work for you. Your symptoms don't seem to be severe. Don't cry Ladyd! You'll be fine.....

Are you using the Monistat one day treatment? I would say let your period flow continue its course...sometimes having your period actually gets rid of the yeast overgrowth. Try eating just plain yogurt too (with no sugar) I know gross...once a day. Then when your AF is gone, use the monistat appropriately. Insurance companies suck. Did you know that doctor's office can put you on a payment plan, if you pay $20 a month, etc. You need to get a follow up regardless and don't let not having money be the issue. Just as long as you are making a payment on a bill, in good faith, they are generally alright with it. Talk to the billing nurse about it, she will know what you mean.

Thank you, Emma. I don't even know why I'm crying because yeast infections aren't that bad I know. I think to myself, at least it's not an std or anything, but I feel funny. It obviously can't be that bad if I don't see or feel anything but I don't know how long I had it, when it's gonna go away, I think I'm scared because I never had one and don't know much about it and the d__n dr. went away and I was just there 2 days ago. I'm sorry, I just need a venting session. Should I drink more water and what is the fastest way to cure this? I just want to know that it will be gone once I use the Monistat. To top it off, my d__n af came last night. Can I even use this stuff? The nurse said I can but it will be messy...eeellll.

Thanks a lot, linds99. I can get the $ for it if worse comes to worse, I'm not gonna let my health deteriorate over a couple of dollars, but if I don't have to spend it, I'd like to use the alternate. Why the hell am I paying about $100 /mth for ins. and it doesn't cover everything...this sh*t is ridiculous. I want to cut the ins. off but I can't til open season b/c it's through my job and as soon as I do, I'm gonna need it. I swear, this world is crazy. Plain yogurt? You are right...eel...lol. The co-pay for the dr. is ok but I have to pay it EVERYtime + the meds she gave me aren't generic, it's formulated or some other word they used. It figures the dr. would prescribe me the most expensive sh*t they have.

Sorry to hear that linds, that's enough to put someone else in the hospital. This is some crazy bull, but I think I'll use the Monistat for now and when I get paid, go back and see the dr. If I do choose to use it tonight, the back of the box says do not use with tampons. I guess I shouldn't use them at all this cycle or just not tonight or tomorrow?

I would just use it on your lightest flow day...that way you are not having "messy issues" I think you can see normal discharge secretions after a few days of using the stuff...(and you still won't be bumping into ovulation days either at that point.) But it is up to you. Hey, good luck, hope the issue gets resolved in time for BD'ing!

Hi, linds. I didn't check this page before I logged out yesterday. That makes sense to do it when my flow is lighter but I used the Monistat 1last night. It was messy but not enough to make me gag because I hate the site of blood. I'm used to tampons and I have to use pads. It would make sense to wear pads for the whole cycle right? I am glad I won't bump into ov time. I'm thinking about slowing down on the ttc, this is stressful. I mean I am not pushing that hard but the lil bit that I am, goodness, I don't know how everyone has the energy to check temps and stuff after a few months. I commend you all and wish you all the luck & blessings to get what you want. I know we all want babies and want them bad but I think I'll just wait for my blessing.
