Pms Symptoms Same As Pg Symptoms

Hi girls! I am a week late and pretty regular. I took an EPT test Sunday and it was neg. I have been having tightness in my abdomen that pretty much feels the way I do when my period is coming....kinda like bloating. But this has been for 4 or 5 days and it usually doesn't last that long before my period starts. Also I have been crying almost every day over silly stuff. But I do that sometimes before my period comes. I want to be pregnant and I am curious if these are signs of pg or just pms. Any responses would be much appreciated! :)

now, I'm not an expert, but I have heard that some people do experience PMS-like symptoms when they are pregnant. The only real way is to test or see a doctor, unfortunately... :( I'm waiting myself with very similar symptoms. I keep testing negative with urine tests.

Thank you for your response Seredetia. Wouldn't you just know that I switced jobs and have no insurance at the moment?!?!? What luck! But if I don't get my period in the next week, then I certainly will go to the doctor for a (hopefully) more accurate answer. Good luck to you!

Yeah, it's just so hard to tell. Some ladies on here (if you can find Mandy's posts) tested negative on urine tests very frequently, but went to the doctor and tested positive right away. Mandy, I believe, tested positive after 17dpo! That's a long time! And thanks for the luck. I wish you luck as well for whatever result you want. :)

Seredetia..can you help me with all the acronyms? I don't know what dpo, af, and all the others mean. Sorry...this is my first day here. :)

DPO: days past ovulation, AF: aunt flow (period), TMI: too much information (hehe), CD: cycle day (days past the first day of your last period, usually followed by a number like DPO), BD: babydance (s_x), DH: dear husband, TTC: trying to conceive. I think I got the major ones. heh. I had to figure them out on my own and finally got it after a few days. They're just easier to use and quicker. Hope it helps!

LOL! Thank you! The only one I had figured out is TTC. The DPO had me racking my brain!!! :)

Yeah, it was like reading code the first time I came here. LOL. I didn't even know AF meant "aunt flow" until a few days ago. LOL. I just knew it was the period. ;)

LOL! Same here! I figured out that it meant period, but couldn't figure out how. LOL! Ok...in my original post I meant to say I have a couple pimples too, which I never get! But I think they can come with pms too! UGH!!!! When you're waiting to find out, you examine every teeny tiny little thing!!! And I keep having tiny little celebrations when I go to the bathroom and see nothing! LOL!

LOL! Nice...yeah, I broke out a tiny bit on my chest and arms which isn't unusual...but a few weeks ago I broke out a tiny bit on my face -- very unusual. It wasn't anything that would make me draw attention on its own, though, you know? Could have easily just been hormones. I had terrible insomnia last night, too, which is weird. I've been sleeping like a rock the last few weeks and I've been SO tired. Last night I was still very very tired, but I didn't get to bed until midnight (after laying there since 10)...then I was woken up at 5am (thank the fiancee) and couldn't get back to sleep.

Hmmmm.....well I've been struggling with insomnia for a couple years now so that wouldn't raise a red flag. But I've been taking Lunesta to help with that so if I am pg that kinda worries me. Can I take that if I'm pg? And if not, how will I sleep?!?!? UGH!!!!

Seredetia - January 3

I would ask your doctor about Lunesta, honestly. I'm not familiar with it, but maybe if you look on the box it will say something about using it while pregnant? I would be careful, though, honestly....you just never know! I mean, when you're not pregnant you can take aspirin, but when you are you can't. ASPIRIN!! That's just such a little simple drug.

Francesca - January 3

Yeah you're right about aspirin. I guess I was wondering because Lunesta approved for long term use. But HECK!!! So is aspirin!

Did your doctor ask if you were pregnant when you first got the prescription? I know it was a few years ago, but they will usually ask you if you are if something will harm a fetus. They asked me all the time about that for every little thing...I'd always answer with a quick, loud "NO!" Now I'm all like: weeelllll...maaayyybeee..

Francesca - January 3

Actually...I just got the prescription a few weeks ago. I think maybe I was asked when my last menstruel cycle was. I threw away the info that came with the Lunesta from the pharmacy, but I can always check with the pharmacist or doctor if it turns out I am pg. LOL! About the "NO!" I've done that too! :)

Seredetia - January 3

heh...well, check with the pharmacist. They don't require a co-pay and they got the degree so the dang well better know what they're talking about! ;)

Francesca - January 3

You're right about that! I figure if I don't know if I really am pg until I go to the doctor, then I will ask him or HER more likely. :)
