I had protected s_x with my boyfriend last wed...just now I went to the bathroom and it looked like I got my period. Only...it wasn't heavy or anything. Just like spots. When I wiped myself it was "pinkish" colour...is this the "period" you can get when you're pregnant? PLEASE. i'm really scared. I'm expecting to get my period sometime this week or next...I have been going to bed really late lately...like at around 1 or 2 in the morning. Could it be I'm getting my period this "spotty" way because I have a lack of sleep? Last time I got my period I had it for two days, but then it came back and it lasted two or three more days...is it all cause I'm sleeping and eating to little? please...some one help!

Lack of sleep doesn't cause spotting, but a number of things can. All you can do is wait until the day when you'd expect your period and test...and use protection next time if you don't want to end up pregnant.

She DID use protection as she stated in her post.

Hi Sandraa, this is exactly what I have been having on and off and only when I wipe. I've been asking about it around here too but no-one seems to really answer that much. I am on CD45 with no AF and only this pinkish or blood-streaked CM when wiping. I'm going to test again in a couple of days. I doubt you would get that from lack of sleep only. IF not pregnancy, then what else could cause this spotting? Anyone else's opinion for us?

Oh, sorry, I missed that. I read it as unprotected. If that's the case, then you're probably not pregnant. Spotting can be caused by a number of different things. If you're not on hormonal birth control, then it could be due to ovulation. It could also be due to a small tear in the v____a from having s_x.

Like Lin said, spotting can be caused by alot of things. I had spotting like that in my cycle numerous of times over the yrs. It can mean your about to ovulate, about to start your period, could mean a lack of progesterone in your system. Another words meaning you have low progesterone. It could be caused from stress...the list goes on and on. The best thing to do is just wait and see if you get your full period. If not see a doctor about the spotting. I dont think you are pregnant due to the fact you used protection, but you could always see your doctor and ask about what could be causing the spotting if its that much of a bothersome! Hope this helps you some!
