Tree Tests

Do you have to wait until after your missed period to get accurate results with $tree tests? I just have felt like I'm pregnant and the tests have been negative.

when is your period due? Mine is due on Thursday and I am getting negatives as well...

MrsShelton217 - March 5

my period was due on Feb 24th... I began taking $tree tests on the 19th (yeah, early, I know...) They all came up negative until I was one day late, then it showed positive... (but I had already gotten my BFP on the 20th w/ a First Response EARLY RESULT) Good LUCK

AF is supposed to come on either Tuesday or Wednesday. I don't know, I just have so many symptoms! Thanks for your advice!

Dollar Tree tests are some of the most sensitive tests around, so most women can get an early positive with them. Of course, as MrsShelton says, it ain't over till the fat lady sings. You never know if you'll get an early positive or not, so there's always hope until af arrives.

It doesn't matter HOW sensitive the tests are if you the baby doesn't implant before you test. Most women the baby will usually impant 4-7 days after ovulation... BUT... some do not... SOME women may not implant until a day or 2 before the dreaded AF.... Since your body doesn't produce the HCG hormone until after the baby has implanted... it wont do u any good to test early if u implant late... make since?

i got a faint positive at 8dpo with a $tree and then a clear positive at 9dpo along with a positive opk that day. i think the tests are excellent and like lin said, if you haven't implanted yet then you won't show positive anyway!

I had been taking the dollar tree tests since I was 9 dpo? (I don't chart or temp so it was just a guestimation) and the first three of days they were negative, then on Friday I statred getting super light faint lines, almost not visible to the naked eye! which I thought might be evaps, so I took a first response yesterday and it confirmed my BFP. AF was due yesterday.Good luck. **Baby Dust***

MrsShelton, my point still stands. I said "most women" can get an early result with $ Tree tests, which is true. Most women implant between 7-10 days after ovulation and test positive within a day or two of that (and hence will get an early positive). A select few, such as yourself, implant early or late and so get either very early positives for not until they're already late.

I got my faint + on a dollar tree test at 9 dpo and than I got my BFP at 11 dpo, this is the earliest I have ever gotten a BFP but the latest is at 14 1/2 weeks.

MrsShelton217: Does this actually mean that if implantation has not occured, even the blood test would show a negative false result???

megryan14 - March 6

Question- Can you still have symptoms before implantation?

LIN - March 6

Martha, it wouldn't exactly be a "false" negative if implantation hasn't occurred, because until that occurs you are not actually pregnant. Yes, it is possible to get a negative test before implantation occurs and then get a positive one later.

Lin: even with a blood test? Sorry for asking twice, it's just that I am so desperate...I did my blood test on Monday morning (10dpo) and got negative. My af is due on Friday. please advice...is there hope??

MrsShelton217 - March 6

Martha, If implantation has not occured, not even a blood test will show anything. The HCG Hormone isn't produced until implantation. Early preggo symptoms and period symptoms are so much a like, that it's really hard to distinguish the difference. A couple of things you might look for are continuing nipple "alertness" and tenderness, and if you are somewhat fair skinned you may notice this before darker skin colors would... but the veins on your chest will be more pronounced. It's not really a good idea to go by, "needing to pee more, hungrier, moody, tired, etc... b/c those are very comon PMS signs. GOOD LUCK and let us know.

MrsShelton217: Thanks a lot for that info. Since the blood test was done on dpo 10, I suppose chances of me being pregnant are like 1%...So I just accepted the fact of not being pregnant and I am preparing for this month... What is the best method: temping? the ovulation sticks? please help!
