what should my bbt be like 5 days before AF is due? before ovulation my temps were 97.8 -98.0 after ovulation it was 98.4 -98.6. a couple days ago it all of a sudden jumped to 98.9 -99.5 and is still there. is this a good sign ? when should it go down if i wasnt pregnant? day of AF start or before? thank you

I have been doing lots of research on this, as well as tracking my own bbt. If this is your first month tracking it, then you don't have a pattern to go by for your own body (everyone's average bbt pre and post-ovulation are different). The good news is that many pregnancies will show a "tri-phasic" thermal shift, meaning you'll see one jump in temperatures after ovulation, then another jump after the egg implants and your body starts releasing hcg. My temps usually go back down the day AF starts or after, they've never gone down before (but again, everyone is different). I'd say this is a good sign for you! When is AF due? If the third shift in temps is triggered by hcg being released, then I would guess you might be able to use a really sensitive pregnancy test soon. (Remember hcg doubles every couple of days, so testing too early could show a false negative if the levels aren't high enough.
