BBT Temp Higher Near The Start Of A F

Hi, I bought a BBT thermometer last night and the reason why I did was that I suspect that I'm preg. I've had many signs such as constipation, nausea that started last week, sore nipples (a few weeks ago that are gone now), and others. Most of all I've had two strange so called periods. My last reg period was Jan 28. The next one I had only lasted for a day and a half with brown cm only off and on. I was due for my next a/f after that Mar 5 but started spotting Feb 27 off and on until Mar 4 and nothing after. I bought a BBT last night and the temp read 36.09 celcius (98.5 degrees Farenheit). From what I understand according to the directions that I'm assuming that I would be close to ovulation or preg. But how would that be possible when I wasn't due for a/f until Mar 5 and figure that my temp wouldn't be up for about another week closer to mid cycle as opposed to the beginning. Any advice would be great!

was that 36.09 or 36.90?? big difference. Your temps stay high until you get your period then they go down. Mine are usually between 36.0 and 36.3 before ovulation then between 36.5 and 36.9 after. If you´re waiting for you period then 36.9 is normal. If you´ve missed your period then 36.9 is high and you could be pregnant or have the flu :) 36.09 is another story (as it´s very low)

Hi Emily, Yep it was 36.09 celcius and yes I was supposed to have my period Mar 5 but started spotting Feb 27 off and on a week early before a/f until Mar 4 and now nothing at all just a little cm yesterday. I'm not sick or anything but I do suspect pregnancy but this is my first time using a BBT this morning but thought that the temp was pretty high for waiting for a/f which I have a feeling I won't be getting unless there is more brown spotting! Which is why I really need advice since I'm new at doing BBT temp charting.

Kerri: 36.09 is low, which is normal for after your period. I think it´s too low for pregnancy. I spotted for 2 days still with high temps but then they dropped and I got the big af. But I guess you need to actually chart for a whole month to get to know your pattern. Im on my 2nd month of charting.

Hi Emily, Thanks for the input and keep me posted on the charting to see if it works. Since I'm glad that you are doing this too and can give some advice. Keep in touch!
