Hi gang. I had a BFP and a blood test to confirm and the blood test came back negative....I had a BFP for 3 days in a row and the docs office said that sometimes if you catch your cycle just right, you can get false positives..anyone heard of this before?? Thanks!

Uhm, I've never heard anything like 'if you catch your cycle just right'..Sounds like the docs' office have lots of imagination..It is very rare to get false positives! I think you definitely were or still are pregnant. Have you tested again since the blood test? I would test again and see. Positives can sometimes go negative, if the pregnancy was lost, but it's still odd. How many days were there between your urine test at home and the blood test? Did you blood test quite a while later? Sorry, things are like this for you :-(

Hi Rainbow, thanks for asnwering! I had BFP's on April 20, 21 & 22. I went in and had the blood test April 22. MY af was 3-4 days late at the time of the blood test. Still no AF and the last few days my b___sts have become even more sore. They're really bad now. I haven't retested yet, but I was thinking of doing that tonight. Yeah, I thought it sounded odd, too. I made a doc appt for Monday. Maybe I'll have to find another doctor!

Maybe your home test was more sensitive than their test? Which one did you use, was it one of those early detection ones? All a bit strange. If you test tonight, then good luck!!! Keep us posted...

I used EPT and First Response. Positive on both. Thanks, I'll retest tonight.

Please tell us when you test again. I Ovulated on April 21-22nd and took a blood test April 29th - BFN because I needed an x-ray. I am not due for af yet, but hoping she never comes. Could the blood test be wrong? I hear they never are.

To Jackie: Never say never about tests failing. You were blood tested only 7 days after ovulation, so maybe it was too early! To Baby Hopes: I know First Response can detect even really low levels (maybe the blood test didn't for some reason.) If your lines didn't get weaker and weaker (from the 20-22nd), then I don't understand either.

Okay girls I just tested bfp. i ovulated on the 12 and got a blood test done on the 15th and it was negative. But I new something was wrong with me so I tested yesterday and it was bfp. so yes they can be wrong or just to early before implantation takes place. As for baby hopes getting a negative blood test. The lab can always make a mistake. It's happen before. Baby dust to you all.
