I have found out that I have bacteria in my va___a. Can this cause BFN on hpt?

hi.. - June 9

generally, I think urine is sterile, as it has pa__sed through your kidneys, ummm, if you have some sort of bacterial infection in the v____a, it shouldn't affect the test. There shouldn't be bacteria present in your urine, anyways, did your doc tell you this? Are you on any meds?

My doctor did give me cipro two weeks ago. That didn't help my discomfort in the pelvic area. While doing a pap they saw my cervix was pink and thin. I don't know what that means. they did a culture on the mucus in the cervis and found bacteria. I am waiting for the blood serum and urine culture results. I have waited 2 days already. I think I am pregnant. My bbs are producing milk. I have Montgomery's Glands on the areolas. They have also gotten darker. Are these probable signs of pregnancy?

your bb's shouldn't be producing milk until late pregnancy, even up to a few days post birth. the tubericles are a sign, did he mention what sort of bacteria? Causes? Not to be rude, could it be an STD? Have you missed a period? could be testing too soon.

you may be pregnant, every woman is different,. have you missed you period yet? Did the doc give you a blood test? Its one great big waiting game!

I think I have BV too. Did they give you cipro for the BV?

I had a very wierd period in May. It lasted 10 days, but was very light. It normally last 5 days varing from light to heavy then light flow. I was on Seasonale so I wasn't expecting my af until June 21. However, I was on antibiotics the first week of may. I think this caused my af on May 19.

They did give me Cipro, but after a week it didn't help. That is when they did the pap. Cipro is used to cure UTI. It won't cure BV. They need to do a culture on the mucus to find out what bacteria is causing the infection. They will then prescribe med to cure that specific bacteria. Most BV goes away without treatment, and most people don't have any signs. I would suggest a pap and culture.

have anyone heard of a lot of women getting prgnant that have IUD's in?

Jessie - June 9

Thanks for answering. I had cipro (left from when I was sick). I was going to take it. I really don't want to go to the gyn because I am in the middle of finding a new doctor. I ordered a medication over the internet called tetresil. If that don't work than I will call the doctor next week. I am also due to get my period this week. I read that 1 out of 3 women will exprience a BV infection and no it is no an STD.

Yup jessie, you are right. I had BV when i was pregnant. That stuff is nothing nice. Lots of women get it. Most women don't know they have it until a pap smear. Try metrogel . You need to replace the bad bacterial with good bacteria. Acidophilus capsule, once a day helps.Good luck!!!!

Does BV do damage to unborn baby? I have heard of oral med or lotion-like med to treat BV. Is one safer than the other? How about if you are pregnant?

Jessie - June 9

THANK YOU KEEKEE!!!!! You may have just saved me. Can I take the acidiphilus (sp) if I am pregant? I don't think I am, but just in case.

hi.. - June 9

to confused, the probability of getting pregnant with an IUD is low, but my friend's sister has one, and low and behold she got pregnant. Sometimes, they'll try to remove them or they'll just leave them in. I am not quite sure about that.

I have C-sections. So, for me, no. Make sure you tell your doctor if you think you have BV. They doctor will give you metrogel in the beginning. Some pills in late pregnancy. I know BV smell, but it have nothing to do with washing. So, don't be embarra__sed or ashame. Its not your fault.................Acidophilus is save while pregnant. You can also eat yogurt. Yogurt has acidophilus in it. I also heard grapefruit seed tablets help too. I also take cranberry pills too. Drink alot of water. I have not heard about lotion type meds.
