I started getting ovarian cysts in August of 06 when my dr determined that they were being caused by my Mirena IUD... i had cysts until she removed it and she determined through all my cysts that none of them were harmful.. they were normal.. However! My question is if for some reason I'm still having cysts... will they cause me to not be able to concieve?

I dont know if i'm still having cysts... i'm just curious if its why we havent concieved yet maybe? i also know that the last few cycles we could've missed O time completely.. so theres that.. but i'm just wondering if it will cause problems... :) any advice is appreciated...

I don't know this for sure, but I'd imagine it would depend on the nature of the cyst. For example, a follicular cyst may prevent you from becoming pregnancy simply because it is a follicle that never bursts at ovulation time. So if no other follicles developed and/or burst, that's your one egg lost to a cyst. Other types of cysts, however, may not be detrimental to your fertility. Again, I don't know this for sure...just stating what I think from what I know on the subject.

A good way to tell if your cyst are affecting your ability to conceive is to chart your BBT. If you are ovulating then the cyst should not be a problem. If you are not ovulating then I would say that it could be the cyst that is causing the problem. I had a problem with cysts and did not ovulate for 14 months. As soon as my cyst was gone I got pg! Good Luck and I hope that this info helps.
