normally, my period lasts about four or five days. i had s_x when i had my period once though .. only two days into my period (unprotected).. & i want to know if you can get pregnant while you have your period. what are the chances?

It is possible but very unlikely. You can only get pregnant from s_x around ovulation time, and that usually occurs a couple weeks after your period starts. That said, some women can ovulate occasionally at strange times in their cycle, so it's not unheard of. If you want to make sure you don't get pregnant, make sure and use protection.

If you want numbers, the second day of your period it would be 1 in 100 chance or less. The chance starts rising steeply around cycle day 8 and peaks at 1 in 3 at cycle day 13 (of 28).
