i know this might sound stupid but can you visit the dentist during the first 3 months of pregnancy?

Yep :) I just had my routine cleaning last week in fact. They didn't do the normal x-rays but having your teeth cleaned or other dental work fine. It's really important to take extra care of your teeth when pregnant since gigavitis (sp?) will be more prone to appear when pregnant.

the only thing you can't do is take Xrays.

Yep Celia's right. But my doc said other than cleaning you should wait till after the first trimester to have other dental work done, like fillings and such. You can't have x-rays, and you can't get gas. Just novacaine.

thank for the info

Gingivitis is a__sociated with low birth weight. Every woman should have her teeth professionally cleaned in the first trimester. Good luck!
