CD 16 When To Test

Okay... So I am on CD16 and I am not really for sure when I o'd. I messed up on my bc pills at the end of last month then I got my period, but I am wondering if I would still be in the mix for the possibility of being prego. DH and I had s_x on CD8, CD9, CD12, CD13, CD14, and CD16... I have been feeling somewhat odd lately, and cant remember if this is how I felt when I first got pg with DS. I am somewhat nausious (only in the morning), bleeding gums (started today), extremely gassy, and yet extremely contsipated, more headaches, and slightly more tired than usual. I dont know when to test as far as testing early goes, because my cycle has been just a little off, so I could start (if not pregnant) as early as the 10th or as last as the 17th... What do you ladies think??? I really need some adivice. :)

Well, if you are cd16 then that would mean that you just ovulated or you are about to depending on how long your cycles are. Did you mean to say that you are 16 days post ovulation?

No... I am on CD16. I am still very new to the charting system so that is why I am somewhat confused on whether I have already o'd or have not. What I read on a website that talked about charting was that the typical ovulation was from CD9 to CD15 dependant on what your cycle length is. Mine is anywhere from 21 to 28 days.

Okay, so since you don't use ovulation predictor kits? Well, your cycle length is like mine, so I would say that you probably ovulated between cd10 and cd15. I base that on your 21-28 day cycle. That would mean that you DID have s_x during your fertile window. That also means that you should start testing for pregnancy on the 16th. Since you do have some 28 day cycles it is best to wait until the longest cycle date to test. That way you aren't getting false negatives or wasting a bunch of money. Of course if you start to feel "strange", or you just can't wait any longer than you could start testing based on a 21 day cycle which would be this friday the 9th. Remember to only test for pregnancy with first morning urine and use a brand name test. First Response Early Results is really the best. I know a lot of ladies use the internet cheapies, but sometimes they give unclear results and who needs that frustration?! Does all of this make sense?

Yes. Absolutely. I actually have two first response tests that a friend gave me when she found out she was pregnant. I will probably try and hold out till the 17th, but sometimes the wait gets really hard. I feel like I could be, but then again I have "thought" I was pregnant before, and wasnt. I think sometimes I get it into my head that I am and then I just pay more attention to my body and think I am having all the first signs of pregnancy. Thanks so much for your info mjvdec01!
