Hello everyone. Just wanted to ask everyones opinion. I usually ovualte around the 13th or 14th day of my cycle. Today is day 10 and my mucus is a sticky consistency. Even though I have not ovulated yet..and my opk I took today was negative..can I still be considered fertile right now..since sperm can survive up to 5 days? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I don't have an answer but I too get cm couple of days before I ovulate.. and I am not using OPK, it would be very difficult for me to know when I ovulated based on just the cm. sorry didn't answer your question as I don't have an answer to it.

i'm not sure what you mean by sticky.but the cm is supposed to be like egg whites and very strechy (maybe that's what you meant by sticky) by i would say it would be ok to bd since the sprem stays in there for awhile.good luck.

Lax- No problem. Thanks for responding and at least giving me your 2 sense!!! Yeah its difficult for me too..thats why I use the opk and chart temps. Was just curious if it meant I was becoming fertile and could get pregnant potentially with the sperm lingering for a few days.

faith - yeah I know the egg white mucus is when you are MOST fertile..but I am at that stage a few days before ovulation where the mucus is like a thick sticky consistency. Just wondering again if I was becoming fertile and could get pregnant potentially with the sperm lingering for a few days.

Deb-I'd say that yes you could very well be fertile! The eggwhite day is your "peak" day for trying, but sticky days are fertile too, it still means estrogen is peaking with ovulation to follow, maybe a little earlier for you this month. Good Luck!!

Can anyone advise me, I am on CD10 today and had a large amount of EWCM this morning only, and I have remained dry since. What I am wondering is, was that it?? Have I missed my fertile time?
