My wife keeps waking up in the early morning hours (4 a.m. - 7 a.m.) extremely nauseous.(Im using her screen name) I was curious whether this could be morning sickness or not. I always thought that someone would actually be throwing up if it were morning sickness. Was my understanding wrong?

Morning sickness is not necessarily throwing up. In fact many women are just extremely nauseous. The "morning" part is a misnomer b/c it may occur at any time everybody's different. Some suggestions are to use ginger in some food or snack on light crackers. If it's morning sickness this could help possibly your doctor could probably help with better ideas. Have you(she) tested positive yet? If so, how far along are you? Some of this may subside after first trimester.

She hasn't tested positive yet which is why I did not think it was morning sickness. She also gets sick in the afternoon and has been dizzy alot lately. Im more concerned because she has been on bc since august and we got married in Dec. The bc she is on has never made her sick or anything, she gets cramps and headaches that time of the month, but other than that nothing else. Her last period she said was unusual. She said it was light pink and an extremely light flow. I dont know what difference that might make but she also had no cramps or headaches at all during that time, which for her isn't normal. I will let her know to start eating some crackers and hopefully it will ease her nausea.

Did she take any antibiotics at some point? They can negate the effects of birth control and allow conception. I would consult obgyn just in case to find out what's going on or at least take a home pregnancy test. Better safe than sorry! Good luck with everything.

She hadn't taken any antibiotics that I know of. I know she didn't take them at the same time every night if that makes any difference I dont know. She has a doctors appointment set for march 6 because she has gotten two negative results with the hpt's. I dont know if she should try testing again before next Tuesday or not?

In any case, she should see a doctor. Actually, if she's on birth control then it's more important for her to see a doctor, because her sickness is more likely due to something other than pregnancy and could be serious. Get her to a doctor.

I called the doctor and tried to get her in as soon as possible and the soonest they can get us is the sixth. Until then we'll have to just wait it off I guess.

if her sickness gets worse I would not wait for the doctor I would go straight to the ER they run better test then most doctors anyway

We have been keeping a close watch to make sure that its not getting worse or even other things happening. If things do worsen before we have gone to the doctor then I will take her to the ER. I am already afraid of her even taking a shower when im not home incase she pa__ses out, luckly she can feel it coming on and she'll get out and lay down. I just wish I knew more of how to help ease all these things that are happening.
