Confused Help

I was due for my period on the 18th of May. I have had clockwork cycles for years. I've taken hpts and they all came up bfn. On the 20th I took a blood test and they told me it was negative with a level 2 and to test again in a week if still no af. Well, here I am five days later and no af. Could I be pregnant? Does that "level 2" mean I am definitely not? I know I probably sound pretty stupid, I just can't find anywhere if 2 is a "normal" amount of hcg. I feel like I'm going crazy! Any insight would be great!!!!

Hey Liz. Anything below 5 is considered not pregnant. You start producing HcG as soon as the egg implants. Any chance you ovulated late in your cycle?

I guess there is, do you think if I was pregnant I would have tested positive already? I could be anywhere from 14dpo to 20dpo if I did ovulate late - I just hate not knowing!

You should normally be over 5 if you ovulated 14-20 days ago, but then again there are women who get false negatives but were pregnant. The blood test is normally very accurate but maybe it was still a little early for that? I would test again when you are a week late. If you are still overdue, you might just be skipping a month, which can happen once in a while. However, you can always go back to a doctor to discuss why you might not be getting your period, especially if you have doubts. Hope things normalize again for you soon!!

Thank you so much for your advice...I made an appointment with my dr tomorrow...I just can't stand waiting and not knowing!
